Of course Danny did..he likes to weight drain his opponents. The conditions of that fight were appauling for Cameron but $$ musta been ok plus he got a shot at the title somehow Green got despite being ranked #8 or 9. But to answer OP top of my head V Klit
I'm a Danny Green fan, so I'll get that out of the way. Yeah, Cameron signed some conditions that are eyebrow raising, but Green is an underappreciated fighter on the whole. A good little technician, knows how to press and how to box, good jab, good dig. Cameron is, simply, not a world class fighter. Green, on his best day, probably is. That was the difference I saw. Both have something left in the tank, and Cameron may yet make his push, but getting massacred by an aging Tua who didn't have a lot left and getting soundly outboxed by a substantially smaller guy indicates he'll have some issues. I hope he proves me wrong though, he's a great guy, I love kiwi boxing, and anybody who whacks Monte Barrett like that, I like.
Kinda off topic but I thought I'll post it here, Barrett seems to me to be like those guys who are totally ripped and 'look' good yet it doesn't translate to athleticism in the ring, slow footwork etc. It's weird.
You mean take it doing the same things Barrett did before he got caught? Not many, I think. Cameron caught Barrett coming in about as flush as you like, with his full weight behind the shot and his feet perfectly set for pure power. You'd need a ridiculous chin not to even go down under those conditions. Cameron can bang, whatever his faults.
Well, he's pretty old now, so there is that. Or where you referring to his speed, athleticism etc throughout his career?
Great shot, you could name a dozen or more heavyweights who would have took that shot though. Id love to see Cameron fight Sonny Bill and spark him though...id imagine it would be a huge fight in NZ
