In defense of Stevens, he did drop down to 154 which is a **** division.
But his management absolutely failed him. He had barely any ring time and took a year off. And he fought Wale Omotoso.
Should have taken another tuneup in Dominican Republic.

And I don“t get why managers are so eager to put their guys in 12 round fights before they are even close to a title shot(Lundy).
    2 clearly mismanaged careers.

Too many to mention, and for a variety of reasons they 'failed'

Alexander Povetkin, Ievghen Khytrov, Michael Katsidis, Lucas Matthysse, Andre Dirrell, Kevin Mitchell, Andrew Selby, Matt Korobov, Mahammedrasul Majidov, Rakhim Chahkiev, Mateus Masternak, Alexander Frenkel, Martin Murray, Paddy Barnes, John Joe Nevin, Evgeny Tischenko

This, I'm really having a bad time trying to define "world champion". There are so many trash belts that if you are not able at least to win one of the trashest ones, well, it's not that you are not top, the problem is that you are not even simply good.

I'm no fan of Whyte but he is still active and has not even had his shot

    I wouldn't say he has failed...yet

Groves comes to mind, despite having won a world title. In every attempt minus Froch I I'd backed him to win one, given the promise and talent he'd shown before it

You mean Ike Ibeabuchi ? I thought he was headed that way too. It wasnt his boxing that failed him. It was a lying hooker & a biased justice system accelerated if not caused his mental breakdown

I thought that Paul Briggs was going to beat Adamak in the rematch and become world champion.
