Let me start: Chad Dawson Used to act like a prima donna, pick and choose his fights, etc. Now he is more humble, he keeps it more real and he is looking to fight the best, even when he shouldn't (e.g. Ward at 168). I will be supporting him in his next fight! Go, Dawson!:good
Hopkins. ****ing hell I wanted to punch him in the face when he stopped Oscar. Now, I love him! arty
Dislike to like Hopkins Mayweather (don't really like...but appreciate a lot more) Hamed Froch Like to dislike Roy Jones Tim Bradley (though i'm becoming more neutral towards him)
I use to hate RJJ but began to appreciate him when I learned he had beaten many good fighters along the way. I started watching him when he was feasting on cans at 175. So I thought he was a ***** at first. I was new to boxing and had no clue about how much ass he kicked prior to that.
I hated Chad, then liked him once he got with Scully, and can't go him again. Never hated Bute, but like Wlad I took a liking to him when I least expected to. Floyd;Never doubted his ability but again,at the strangest time(Hatton build up) became a fan and now I'm a big fan. Hated Pacquaio for what he did to Barrera but despite Marquez being my favourite active fighter,I have a ton of respect for Manny now. Morales, again because he was a big rival of Barrera, but an alltime favourite now. Vargas.Despised him but now I realise what a brilliant young and brave talent he was. Ward.Knew he was good, but thought he was overrated until his masterful display v Froch. Rios.Like Vargas,I despised him but I won a good drink when he stopped Alvarado, and now he's must see.
I used to dislike David Price purely because people around me hyped him like **** and he was only beating people clearly below his level, but his classy reaction to losing his fight and not calling it a fluke made me respect him, watching back through his last few fights again also made me notice he is in fact very good offensively.
Juan Manuel Marquez. I never hated him but just didn't really care for him because of his team playing the robbery card so much and unable to let it go and move on. A "did our best, got caught but will get him next time" would have sufficed. I mean he did get knocked down 3 times in the first round so a Pacquiao decision wasn't that unbelievable. Back then I guess I was more of a fanboy and had a group of fighters I either liked or disliked, and wouldn't always appreciate skills/styles of fighters that didn't fall into the liked catagory. Nowadays I love JMM and his fighting style. When other fighters are facing Pacquiao their instincts are to move, run, dodge, dip, avoid the left hand at all costs whereas Marquez is willing to stare down the barrel of the gun in order to get his own shots off. He has tremendous amount of heart, no quit in him whatsoever, perfect mix of caution and aggression. I love the way he'll move around or looking to counter but when he does decide to throw he puts some bad intentions into it. His fighting IQ is fun to watch, that first knockdown in the 4th Pacquiao fight was awesome! Pacquiao had no clue what was coming at him, set up beautifully! Marquez a G :smoke
I love JMM, great fighter, but it's a shame he went down the PEDs route. Hey, maybe his opponent, Pacquiao, was on PEDs too... :conf
