How is Schemling Louis a shocker when more than likely you've seen it in hindsight.

    I was not using hindsight.

The title of thread gives scope for that.

So I suppose I should maybe add Sullivan/Corbett and maybe even as I am white Johnson/Jeffries...

..............That one not so much. It was a surprise for sure, but nowhere near the level of the second Ramirez match. By the time he fought Hiranaka, he was no longer "Duran's heir apparent."

    No.

Chacon was moving up in weight and had absorbed hellaciois punishment against Limon and, especially, Boza, in his two previous fights. And it appeared he took the Mancini fight for the payday. So, I wasn't surprised at all when Ray stopped him early.

    Of course in my lifetime
FRAZIER VS. FOREMAN STUNNING! & HEARTBREAKING.

A SMALL BUT REAL LET DOWN FOR ME WAS CURRY VS. STAFFORD. 1 RD! STAFFORD PRAYED INSTEAD OF WARMED UP. Curry-Jones was a real bummer. Dumbass doctor pulled the cut apart!
Buster Drayton KO 2 Clint Jackson
    And before I forget:
No ****in way did I realize how truly great, #3 I saw in my lifetime, Wilfredo Gomez was until he utterly destroyed the monster that was Carlos Zarate!!!!!!###!

Only in hindsight for this one. Jackson was a nobody at the time they fought and hadn't done much of anything. He showed the world how dangerous he was and took off from there.

Reggie Johnson v William Guthrie really surprised me. I didn't have Reggie pegged as a hard hitting middleweight let alone a one-shotter LHW.

Lol. I guess I didn't look at the date. Yes, a lot of 10 year old threads being bumped lately.
