Noticed this job vacancy for an internship at Fighting Fit magazine, seems they would like someone to cover both boxing and MMA stories. Just thought someone on here may be interested. Link provided. http://www.journalism.co.uk/media-jobs/ ... 5/a546178/
For any aspiring writer the experience will be invaluable. It's the first rung on the ladder and they will get to work with a great bunch of people.
Well it would ideal for a fresh grad, and it could ultimately be a stepping stone onto bigger better things not to mention doing something that you love for your profession. different strokes for different folks
Its a great opportunity for a sports writer. The big sell of journalism is the access it gives you, not the money it makes you. Most journalists use that to let them develop books (which are much better paid) or to become columnists (again, better paid). Journalism is badly paid all-round. Most that I know supplement their income with other work. FF gives you access to BN. A few years there will give you access to The Ring, ESPN, the newspapers. Its a fantastic opportunity.
Would you need to be very knowledgeable about MMA for the internship? I'd go for it if boxing knowledge alone was sufficient, but I know very little about MMA.
To be honest if I was you I'd blag it. You can soon pick up the MMA stuff as it doesnt have a long history to gen up on llike boxing does! :thumbsup
