Ruben has the punching power over Harada but their speed, endurance, combinations and attacks to the head and body are on par with each other and both could change their styles. Harada was a smart fighter and his jaw took everything Eder could catch him with and didn't crumble, how does this fight go in your book?

I remember Al Francis saying that Al Rudkin Sr, who fought them both, believed that Harada would've been a great potential foil for Olivares with his ability to close the distance and using his great swarming attack to smother and prevent Olivares from getting any consistent leverage and power on his shots. It's a very possible outcome in what would very likely be a classic.

Jofre was greater than Olivares overall and tougher with similar power, but Olivares was a far quicker starter and a bit better at cutting off the ring against retreating fighters. Jofre, though still very formidable, was undoubtedly faded and weight drained by the time he faced Harada and got off to a horribly slow start in the first fight. And he managed to hurt Harada numerous times throughout but lacked the speed and energy to consistently follow up at that point, not being aided by the fact that Harada could really mix it up by jabbing and moving laterally if his swarming tactics weren't working. Olivares would be much quicker to follow up and possibly finish Harada in similar circumstances.

I also had Jofre winning the rematch with Harada by a point, for what it's worth. Olivares, Harada and he are three of my favourites.

If Harada can weather the early storm and consistently stand up to Olivares' left hook, it's very possible that his relentlessness and ability to invade an opponent's comfort zone could really discourage Olivares and grind him down. He never really had Jofres consistency, discipline and mental fortitude despite being an incredible natural fighting machine and force of nature. That said, he could fight effectively on the back foot albeit awkwardly and was adept at countering people on the way in when he focused on it. Harada was only a small bantam in spite of his phenomenal talent and could be hurt. When I run all the possible scenarios through my mind, I just find it hard to not imagine Ruben punching holes in him at some point.

    Two good posts.
I lean towards Olivares in this one after some thought. Harada could smother Rueben at times, but I think he would be playing with dynamite with a prime Olivares...I think Harada's pressing attack and Olivares deadly left hook, especially to the body...add up to an eventual stoppage win for Olivares.

Good point about Ruben' s left hook to the body, he threw it with evil in his heart. Like a hoodlum stabbing someone in the liver in a knifefight.

I scored the re-match a draw. 8-7 Harada with him losing a point. I felt Jofre won the first by a couple of points.
