    Harada's swarming vs McGowan's boxing.

If a past it Harada was able to trouble Famechon as greatly as did in deserving the decision in their bout at Featherweight, I just can't see how McGowan lasts at either Fly or Bantam. Not only was he very susceptible to cuts, but Harada's swarming, constantly aggressive style would lead to a lot of fierce exchanges in which a cut would be very likely and probable. I don't favor many pure boxers over a guy like Harada at his best, if any.

Yeah, McGowan would get cut to shreds, probably from very early on.No matter how good you are, fighting while badly hampered with cuts against a swarmer like Harada is a recipe for a wide loss.

All things being equal and taking cuts ouf the equation i stil expect Harada would win 10 or 11 of 15 rounds or so.He's just not a guy you can glide around and try to strictly out-finesse at these lower weights.

Harada contained , in the words of Fammo hinself, two secret weapons.... a rock hard skull... and disgustingly bad breath. McGowan, and the era were far from dentaly hygenic perfectioinists, so the match up draws closer. Harada was a free throwing, non stop puncher. Moving from Fly to Bantam, fighting the rounds with a young 'Rose', and then 'Fammo' at F/W holds Masahiko as one of the lower weights ATG's.

Harada, IMO reigns far above 75% of lower weight fighters, through sheer ring activity and fortitude, a fine puncher, a never say 'die' attitude and held the pride of his nation with esteemed values. Harada San..... Nippon Yokozuna!! .. The best Japanese exponent of the game.
