'Fighting the Demons - The Lester Ellis Story' As told to Robert Drane. Walking through Big W today and saw this new book for sale, never was a huge fan for Lester but should be a good read. Think it was around $15 in Big W but will cost more in other stores, they always sell their books pretty cheap. Says on the back its an ABC book so may be available there, didn't see it in Dymocks or Angus & Robertson earlier in the day.
I finished reading it the other day. I thought it was quite good, especially how it told of his downfall as well as his fights and world title win.
the book was way to short and just touched on his life, IMO it needed much more detail. Its nothing compared to Paul Briggs book which was very well written and left nothing unturned,
I enjoyed it - very much written like it was Lester speaking to you. Bob Drane said that was his intention on the Kostya Tszyu forum. Just finished Kostya's new book as well. Very good read. Will be out next week. Greeny has something coming as well, but put back due to Tarver fight
i met lester in kalggorlie when he won sum ibo title,against a hawaian,he was in the pub,seemed a very nice man,my missus then got us both kicked out for fighting with another chik,just as we were starting to talk about fights,
