Should he want a shot at the big boys later on? I have Joan Guzman Juan Diaz Breidis Prescott Michael Katsidis Ali Funeka Nate Campbell (although I do not know how Valero will handle jumping up to 140) Humberto Soto And to a lesser extent ( in my opinion anyway) Jesus Chavez (already past prime and Valero might not get any credit here) Jorge barrios Any thoughts? ideas? I think I would favor him over a lot of these fighters and should he win against one or a couple of these guys his name would be truly out there.
hmm says... great list.... hard to argue. I can see some of these potential fights that should take place in Vegas but I don't think he's cleared to fight in Vegas yet.. he needs to stop focusing on Pac though and worry about establishing himself with some of the fighters you listed..
There are many good fighters for him out there to fight, don't understand what the hell is he doing and somehow his "fans" seem to be satisfied with trash talking and only that.
I think beating these guys will give the rest of the world an opportunity to take notice of Valero. Fights with Pac or Marquez in my opinion are pretty far fetched at this point. A lot of people seem to view him as a crude brawler (as do I to a certain extent) but lets remember that a LOT of people also thought of Pacquiao as a one dimensional brawler as well before his fights with Barrera and Morales. So Valero, lets get that Vegas boxing license and get an opportunity to shine!
Definitely a good list. One or a couple of names from there would definitely add onto his resume and help the hype and excitement that is starting to follow him. About the only name I can think of adding is Khan, not because it would be a good fight, (Valero would probably kill him) but because Khan is already fairly well known throughout much of the world and look at the attention it brought Prescott. But there's a lot out there in the 135 and 140 divisions, and Valero can really make his name by taking them on and then he'll legitimately be at the top of the heap rather than being this guy only hardcore boxing fans know and is calling out all the mainstream names. Ditto. Pac is not interested in Valero, and, honestly, doesn't have any reason to be if he's really planning on just one or two more fights before he retires. So Valero needs to get to work fighting the guys who are young and at a similar level that he is and climb the ranks the right way.
