Pacman-Mayweather. For obvious reasons. Doubt this is gonna happen this year. The big May date is taken up with Mosley/Pac so that would leave the November spot. If its gonna happen I reckon itll be May 2012 (2 years after it should have happened) if it ever happens. Never say never though 15% chance this happens Lopez-Gamboa. I think this has a half decent chance of happening, they aint gonna wait forever to make it happen and Ive never heard any guys that hard to negotiate. I think theyll have another fight or 2 then be brought together. 70-80% chance this happens Haye-Wlad/Vitali Klit. I think we'll get this fight, well one of them this year. Haye reckons he's retiring this year but he also said he wouldnt fight Audley. I reckon he'll fight one of the brothers between August and December. 75% chance DeGale- Groves. No time like the present and I think they are about ready to face off but as they are both young and there respective promoters want to get as much money as they can out of them it could happen anytime within the next few years depending on if they keep winning. 65% chance Froch-Ward. Supersix final, both are favorites in their semis and should come through but Johnson has proved time and time again never to write him off and Abraham always has a punchers chance of causing a upset. 90% chance Munroe-Molitor. Molitors got his mandatory next and Munroe will probably be paired with a Euro level opponent as a confidence booster. This could happen late in the year. 75% chance
Froch - Ward would be good, but Froch - Johnson will be better. I'd like to see: Eddie Champbers vs. Chris Arreola for a US or North American title Boytsov, Helenius, Dimitrenko - Any combination of those three. Povetkin vs. Adamek Khan vs. JMM Pascal vs. Hopkins rematch
either Klitschko vs. Haye, Adamek, or Povetkin Bute vs. Dirrell or Kessler Agbeko/Mares winner and Donaire/Montiel winner, if not each other, vs. Anselmo Moreno or Koki Kameda Dawson vs. Pascal II and winner vs. Hopkins Mayweather vs. anyone... I'll take Matthew Hatton, Senchenko, or Spadafora Shumenov unification... hopefully Brahmer later or ideally Cloud Sergio vs. whoever Paul Williams vs. whoever Malignaggi vs. a top 15 welterweight At least two of any combination: Lopez, Gamboa, Caballero, Rafael Marquez, Chris John, or Hasegawa
Eddie chambers vs Chris Arreola won't happen anytime soon for the simple fact they're both under Goosen and they're both looking to win significant titles. Since Chris Arreola has a bigger following and make more money being mexican and all Gossen will milk Arreola as long as he can because putting him agianst eddie wouldnt be much of a good idea since eddie will most likely pick arreola apart anyways too fast to well cordinated for him
Adamek-Haye Cloud-Henry Kirkland-PWill Alvarez-Chavez Jr Khan-Bradley/Alexander winner Rios-Ortiz Ponce vs either JuanMa or Gamboa if JuanMa-Gamboa doesn't happen I do think JuanMa-Gamboa is going to happen. I just don't see the value in waiting anymore for Arum. The fight isn't any bigger this year than it was last year. Non-boxing fans still don't know who the hell these guys are. And cracks in JuanMa's chin are appearing rapidly. Gamboa has gone down too, but, his is a balance issue. He hasn't been really hurt yet. JuanMa is hurt in almost every fight.
These are the top ones I would like to see, in no particular order: 1) Roman Gonzalez vs. Giovanni Segura 2) Nonito Donaire vs. Fernando Montiel 3) Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Chris John 4) Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa 5) Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Celestino Caballero 6) Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Amir Khan 7) Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Marcos Maidana 8) Timothy Bradley vs. Devon Alexander 9) Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. 10) David Haye vs. Wladimir Klitschko 11) Lucian Bute vs. Carl Froch 12) Sergio Martinez vs. Paul Williams III 13) Sergio Martinez vs. Miguel Cotto 14) Sergio Martinez vs. Antonio Margarito II 15) Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito II 16) Andre Berto vs. Saul Alvarez I'm sure I can think of more...(to be continued)
Yes, 17) Jean Pascal vs. Bernard Hopkins 18) Saul Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Jr. 19) Ivan Calderon vs. Giovanni Segura 20) Carl Froch vs. Andre Ward 21) Arthur Abraham vs. Kelly Pavlik 22) Arthur Abraham vs. Sergio Martinez 23) Victor Ortiz vs. Brandon Rios 24) Brandon Rios vs. Humberto Soto 25) Christopher Arreola vs. Eddie Chambers 26) Alexander Povetkin vs. Tomazs Adamek 27) Vitali Klitschko vs. Nikolai Valuev 28) Vitali Klitschko vs. David Haye 29) Roman Gonzalez vs. Juan Carlos Reveeco 30) Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Timothy Bradley OK, I listed 30 possible fights that can happen this year. What are the chances that at least 50% of them happen? Come one boxing, we need these fights! Make them happen! :bbb
I didn't know that. How about Arreola versus Tony Thompson for a North American title? That would be my second choice. I know Eddie is going to be fighting for the IBF eliminator next month, so he has no need to secure a regional title if he is becomes a mandatory for the IBF. Of course we know Wlad will be busy next year with Haye and maybe trying to pick up the WBC if Vitali retires. So, maybe Eddie picks up a fight with Adamek for NABO and Intercontinental titles? Chris Arreola has already lost to Vitali and Adamek, so I don't know what else he plans to do. Haye is going to dodge him, and he can't fight Eddie... Might be the best he can do to pick up another Regional Title?
