If we're talking the last 30 years, then I think Gerrie Coetzee vs. Michael Dokes is a stand-out. Coetzee was infamously slow and robotic, whereas Dokes had brilliant handspeed and could move well in the early rounds; back at that stage in his career, he also had a lot of power in his punches. Coetzee not only knocked out Dokes, but he outboxed him by using a textbook jab and manipulating the distance very well. It was perhaps South Africa's greatest night of boxing ever.

Of the examples given, I think the ones where a slower fighter outboxes a faster one are more interesting. Skill beating speed is always a fascinating spectacle to watch.

I saw this fight, and I was most impressed with Coetzee, and thought, wrongly, that he was going to be around as a force for a long time.

Poor Michael would never of remembered the fight. His training was spent in nightclubs. The way he abused himself and was still the WBA heavyweight champion shows what an
outstanding talent he was. The mandatory defence against Gerrie was thought to be an
    easy one.

Thanks Teeto in the same clip he says when he receives recognition so does Panama and Mexico Because his father is Mexican. He failed to include the American half of Mexican-AMerican. Don't think it was a snub he probably saw his Dad as simply a Mexican.

maybe griffin's losses to : michalczewski and glen johnson ?
    wlad / byrd ?
    jackson-norris
maybe most or all of norris' loses.
when a rangier fighters' hands are quicker than the quicker's feet.

best answer : look at the losses of fighters you regard as 'quick' , then check their reasons to filter 'uneffectively'
