WTF? Hopkins was faster than Pavlik and about as fast as Winky. Bad example. Tszyu was old and looked slow. Hatton was faster in that one.

Over the last 30 years, I'm partial to Wilfredo Gomez-Derrik Holmes (which is currently on youtube), and Fred Hutchings-Charles Carter, as well as Watt-Davis, Jr. (Jim Watt's performance has gotten more mention than that of anybody else in this thread, something both entirely appropriate and revealing.)

Gomez slipped punches with well timed body movements, but Holmes was too fast for him to try this with. Wilfredo was much stronger though than he was several years earlier when Holmes starched him in the amateurs in Gomez's nationally televised debut. He weathered the early storm, and when Derrik made the mistake of ceasing his movement and standing flat footed, Wilfredo made him pay for it, fracturing his jaw.

Charles Carter was blindingly fast early, but Hutchings had the chin to take his shots. It looked to me as though Carter might be sacrificing some power for speed. As Gomez did, Hutchings took what he got hit with, and gained control as Carter's opening speed diminished. The Pumper had good stamina, and he could take a decent shot, while Carter was a jack rabbit with a questionable chin. Machine Gun was an appropriate nick name for Carter, but he never really progressed much beyond his amateur strengths as a professional.

Watt did a superb job against the usually much faster Buchanan as well.Albeit Ken was a lot more flat footed than usual and turned in probably his worst prime performance.

Did he? Winky had been leaden legged for years by the time of that fight. He still had a quick right jab, thats about it. Hopkins 'won' that 'fight' with superior movement and speed, if anything.
