whether they were paid under the table to push a specific fighter in a fight which fight was the most blatant or obvious form of it? Of ones I can recall I pick

-Mike Jones when he fought Bailey
    -Linares when he fought Demarco
-Golovkin from the very first time he fought on HBO until now but it was so overdone the first time I saw the telecast that it was lame especially because Proska sucked and looked like an amateur

The time they kissed Mike Jones ass was especially funny and satisfying because I'm sure the plan was to next have Jones served up to Pac and instead he got ko'd lol.

    Trinidad/Hopkins.

Foreman and Lampley were blind until the 8th round. Merchant kept it real though.

    Pacquiao vs Bradley I

Commentators were hyping up stuff that Pac wasn't even doing. There was a point where a punch clearly didn't land or wasn't even thrown and Lampley "hard left hand!!!". Horrible.

I thought Steward was the only one really kissing Jones' ass. What I remember more from that fight was the extent to which they were ****ping on Bailey before the KD and KO, suggesting he shouldn't have even been sanctioned to fight.

Also Chavez-Rubio is one that springs to mind. I mean they were all in on the Chavez bandwagon up to the Martinez fight (and Ward was really kissing his ass vs Vera too no doubt cause he wanted that fight), but the Rubio one was the most embarrassing. They were making that slog of a fight sound like one of the greatest brawls in history; Lampley's "Raging bull, BOOM!" in response to a Chavez slap was worse than anything he did during Pacquiao-Clottey.

Yeah Steward and co. were hard on Bailey. it was satisfying when he got the KO right up until the very end of their ****ting on him on commentary. :bbb

This was hilarious as they (espically Kellerman) were saying how skillful Linares was and to be fair he was outclassing Demarco but DeMarco put the hurt on him in the later rounds, he unraveled, got stopped and it was like a "...well s***" moment

Linares against DeMarco was a good shout too. Didn't Steward declare him one of the greatest boxers he'd ever seen within the first 2 minutes of the fight? :rofl

Every Manny fight until the Floyd schooled him. Kind of hard to ride the bandwagon when it was obvious after round 1 the fight was over.

To all you jokers that complain about poor announcing! There's this invention , it's called the mute button! CLOWNS!!! Why complain about something that you have complete control over .
Remember, it is wiser to light one candle than to curse the darkness! I always watch boxing in silence. Try it , it give the fight a different feel.

Because commentary is meant to add to spectacle of boxing not hinder it. Why can't I light the candle AND curse the darkness :think

That said I don't mind hype when it comes to Boxing and MMA since I do it myself. Even if I get proven wrong, embarrassed by it or whatever, I will still do it because it's fun to hype things up occasionally.

Also HBO Commentary >< Shotime Commentary > British Commentary

    So many to choose from.

Julio Cesar Chavez-Meldrick Taylor 1: they were all on Taylor's ****.

Amir Khan-Marcos Maidana: it was pretty obvious they were trying to make Khan an HBO star. Khan got hurt in the 10th so he tried for a little bit to hold Maidana, but Maidana wouldn't let him. So Khan kept covering up instead while Maidana swung at him. Lampley goes "Khan will not hold! He wants to fight!!! Too much heart for Khan". During that whole sequence in which Lampley raved about Khan's desire to "fight", you can notice that Khan threw the same amount of punches in the ring as everyone else on this earth not named Marcos Maidana. Zero.

Bernard Hopkins-Felix Trinidad: Foreman wanted Tito to win so badly, the nonsense he was saying was kind of funny. "There are a LOT of signs that Hopkins is wearing down, he went to the corner and laid his legs flat out, Trinidad is still sitting in a sitting position". Meanwhile, Hopkins was in the middle of winning his 5th or 6th straight round of the fight, eventually he won another 5 more before entering the 12th and ending the fight.

Oscar De La Hoya-Ike Quartey: Foreman had a man crush on DLH, he's give us gems like "not much is a lot for Oscar De La Hoya. Not much IS a lot".

Jim Lampley often goes for the HBO guy (Pacquiao, J. Taylor, DLH), and really likes Cotto, but nothing matched his manlove for Marco Antonio Barrera. He was always all up in his ass.

"Roy, no disrespect to you, but Barrera is the smartest boxer I have ever met"

"Barrera looks at Hamed as if to say 'come on. COME ON!!!!"

As soon as Barrera-Morales 1 ended, he says "I think Barrera won! I think Barrera won!"

His "Allah knows how to spell Barrera" rant came not from what I felt was him trying to be offensive, but just getting so excited that Barrera was winning that he just wanted to say something that he thought would sound cool.

Lampley was crying in a documentary when talking about the "beautiful artistry" of Hamed outboxing Barrera.
