Theres obviously some big boxing fights coming up this weekend (Adamsek-Estrada, Mack-Johnson, Valero-DeMarco). Does anyone know if they are going to be shown anywhere on British TV? Thanks
We miss setanta big time! the corprate bigwigs over here are a bunch of tossers. They snub boxing for more "civilised" sports. As Froch said, when he was younger he was surrounded by boxers but didnt know too many dart players or ice skaters! Good thing is they gotta give way soon. Britain has the best crop of fighers coming through weve ever had and that includes Amir Khan who is still at the tender age of 23. In the coming years theres gonna be so much success and therefore so much money the big tv bosses are gonna have to conceed and put this "ape sport" on for the public. And another thing. how steve Bunce isnt on the telly i dont know.
Espn have Paredes v Hernandez on Saturday afternoon http://tv.espn.co.uk/schedule/ Thats it unfortunately Mack Johnson is the top fight on this, which will be good
With the BBC using license payers money to screen absolute shite instead of investing in boxing and other sports no coverage here
http://www.livesportontv.com/boxing/all-fixtures We don't get many of these good international fights since the demise of Setanta anymore :-(
Setanta was fantastic for boxing in the UK. Buncey was very entertaining (the missus hated him) and the guys always tried to get the biggest fights. Wasnt always perfect with Setanta (customer service, prices) but what do we have now? Thank god for Sky and friday night fights. I think the BBC got burned by the Audley Harrison deal. Blame A-Force for lack of boxing in the UK from the BBC. Damn shame i know Ill be watching the Adamek fight via legal stream. I sometimes use SecoundsoutTv but the quality of the streams varies from ok to crap!
