Sick to death of the contract wranglings so thought id make a more enjoyable thread.

What other fights in history do you think are up there with how big this fight will be if it gets made.

    Ali/Frazier, hearns/leornard, Tyson/Lewis

where would you rank this fight on how big it will be:good

I'm 30, and I think this is the biggest fight of MY lifetime, but then again, I'd say the same thing if I was 70, because, personally, I think this is the biggest fight of all time, or damn close to it...

...the only reasons why Tyson-Holyfield and Tyson-Lewis were so big was because Tyson STILL had that 80s aura surrounding him. People were still wondering if the Tyson of the 80s would show up...

...Pacquiao-Mayweather is a case of two PRIME guys. Two prime guys, the top two attractions in the sport, no 1 and no 2 ranked...I mean, this is a rarity.

Oscar v Mosley maybe wasn't as big but had the same feel about it.

    Same with Whitaker v Chavez

i can name at least 100 fights bigger than this one.. the only reason this fight is so big is the drought boxing is going through.. right now boxing is on its worst stage in history from top to bottom.. people like to talk about the golden era of the 70s but the 60s 90s and 80s were a lot better than this era right now where we have too many champions that are not that good and are not willing to fight eachother to prove their worth and just care about making money

Wrong. It's not based on a "weak era". Floyd and Pacquiao would be champions in any era in history. They're both Top 30 all-timers pound for pound and have a chance to go at it while they both have their physical gifts to go with their experience. This fight is as big as fight can be.
