Fights that a particular fighter wouldn't of won without being able to hold.

I had a debatable with someone who insinuated that the only reason Molina beat Kirkland was because he was allowed to hold. What other fights have you witnessed where by you thought the outcome might of been different if not for the holding.

    Ali-Frazier 2

The ref allowing Ali to hold Joe & grab the back of his neck had a massive influence on the fight. In Manilla the ref warned Ali straight away & we saw a very different fight.

Technically, Molina didn't hold Kirkland. He punched, then fell in and smothered Kirkland. Much the same way Wlad does. When I think of holding I think of actually grabbing the other guy, like Hatton, Hopkins, Ruiz, as mentioned above. ymmv.

I actually think Wlad would have lost by tko/ko to Peter in their first fight, had he not been able to hold so much. Very effective for him that fight though.

Brilliant. That shows what I said. Molina would throw, then fall in on Kirkland. When I think of holding, I think of motherf*cking Holding. Like an older Ali used to do, or Hatton.

    Hatton's main attack is hold.
