At their best, I would take Morales. I think his jab offsets Marquez's offensive rhythm and outfights him in heated exchanges. It could go either way though.

It's really too bad this never materialized. It would have helped bring some clarity as to who was Mexico's best little man.

If this happened at 126-130 I would take El Terrible and by stoppage (!)

Marquez is a much more skilled smarter boxer and would win. Rose tinted glasses remember the brawling Morales as better than he was. He went life and death with Chi, got a gift against Espadas and deserved to lose all 3 Barrera fights except maybe the second one.

There's a reason Morales was protected from Marquez.

Morales won all three against Barrera. Won the first and second easy. Third was a draw at best for Barrera.

The third fight it was pretty damn clear Morales lost that fight, Im a huge Morales and Marquez fan and don't like Barrera at all but it was clear Morales didn't train hard for the third fight and thought it was easy and he lost round after round and didn't really try until late in the fight when it was too late.

The second Morales Barrera fight was definitely a clear Morales win in my eyes, he cleanly outboxed Barrera imo. The 1st fight is a tricky one for me, if not for the bs Knockdown I had Morales winning but because of it I had a draw.

Head to head Marquez vs Morales would be a hell of a fight. In their primes it'd be a toss up but Im leaning more towards Marquez, he was just a more sound boxer and has very good ring intelligence and I think he would win a really close decision 2 out of the 3 times. Neither fight would stop one another I know that for certain.

Barrera won all three against Morales. That was the height of Bob Arums payoffs to keep his fighters (like Ayala, who had something like three or four straight gifts) winning.

I think Morales would pull off a very competitive decision win. Something like 7-5.
