Who would win this fight prime for prime?

I guess we are talking George's comeback period. I like them as boxers equally, but I go with George on a late round stoppage. If this fight was ever going to take place, Foreman would have trained his heart out for this bout.

Holmes all the way in either the 70's or the 80's! Larry always wanted to fight Foreman but George seemed a little reluctant. Holmes would have taken Foreman the same way Tommy Morrison did, only better! Looking back on Holmes' career, more and more people are seeing him for the great boxer he was. Thank you

    I think this would've looked a lot like Tyson-Holmes.

What about Foreman-Tyson, prime for prime? That's a fight, in my opinion!

As long as we're fantasizing, that is.

I'd go with Holmes via decision.. But it would have been a tough fight. Foreman would nail him with some of those looping rights and even have some moments on the ropes with Holmes. Larry might even get decked a time or two. But I think Holmes eventually takes over and outpoints him over 12 or 15, and perhaps even wears him down for the stoppage.

Yeah. The problem with this fight never taking place is there never seemed to be an ideal time to do it.

Two of the greatest jabbers against each other. I just see George's jab being much more powerful and dominant. But who knows?

Yes, Foreman would have taken this fight seriously. George would have taken a fight with Tyson seriously.

70s Foreman wins imo, Ali was a beast to stand up to that punishment, not sure many/any other heavyweights could do that

Tyson vs. Foreman. Beautiful violence! Somebody's leaving the ring on a stretcher! And I'm not too sure who, to tell the truth!

It's easy to pinpoint Tyson's prime, but I'm not so sure about George. If it just weren't for that dadgum Ali! :fire

Most probably your scenario. Holmes would have to box very carefully early on because if Foreman catches him full on,he would follow up pretty quickly, unlike Earnie Shavers.
