McCallum wears Hearn down to a late TKO for me.

mcallum is too much and in the end too big for him. gives the hitman a hernia by stoppage.

Stewart once said that McCallum was the only one to consistently outbox Hearns at Kronk. Something about outjabbing him, timing his jab or somesuch.

So McCallum UD, solely on that testimony.

Sparring videos mean sweet FA. You would have to know the date on which the spar was filmed, and which fighter had an upcoming fight, and which one had been in the gym for less than a week, or had only been called in for the spar.

There is a clip of Spadafora less than 2 weeks away from a fight making Matyweather look slow and unable to do much, but it turned out Mayweather had only been in gym a few days. It didn't stop the haters, or Pacturds jumping on the bandwagon though.

I'll take Stewards observations over a sparring clip that was designed to promote Tommy's resume any day of the week. McCallum can take anything and everything Tommy can hit him with. The reverse is highly unlikely.

So KO McCallum around the 8th.

Why did McCallum miss so many big names in his career anyway? Anybody know?

Well Robinson was either retied or fighting a FAB 4 during McCallum's run

Hearn moved up to Middleweight, just before McCallum won a belt at Jr Middle. By the time they was both at the same weight the fight wasn't as appealing.

Duran probably thought he didn't have the natural size to compete and the risk/ reward wasn't there.

Hagler had retired by the time McCallum moved up to Middleweight

I'd say this is nearer the truth than most.

As for Hagler he was happy fighting the Light Middle Mugabi, but not the Light Middle McCallum.

    You decide.

McCallum was Duran's mandatory in 1984, but Duran was stripped for facing Hearns instead. Hearns then faced a couple of nobodies before moving up to MW. So fight could definitely have been made with both, but clearly neither was interested. They found better risk/rewards elsewhere.

Hagler and Leonard never fought in the same weight class at the same time as Mike, so not too much to say about that.

I think Duran was quite wise to be honest. Wouldn't gain much from beating McCallum and it's was a very dangerous fight

Hearns would win this either by KO or points. Mike McCallum gets very overrated on this forum, don't forget this guy lost to Kalambay & only just beat Graham, he certainly was no Hagler or Leonard.
