I didn't see it live, I had no ride to the sports bar, and was too cheap to pay for it, but I was watching ESPN when the announcement came on that Pac had ended it in 2 rounds...I shouted a bit, and my brother came out of his room, saying "what are you so amped about?"
Yeah it was sad to him recently stopped and he looked terribly out of shape. He gave a good account of himself against VITLAY as well.
Good post. :good There is a point in that fight where Brewster unloads on Liakovich and all his punches land flush. He literally hit the man with bombs and I was amazed that Liakovich didn't wilt under the pressure. Brewster was an exciting champion and it's a shame there aren't more fighters out there now who go to war like he used to.
I gotta say... no boxing I've ever watched has lived up to watching the Saints win the Super Bowl last month at a bar in the French Quarter in New Orleans, and then flooding the streets immediately after the win. WHO DAT
The Jermain Taylor fights when all he'd do is back up around the ring rather than imposing himself. I think it was both the Kassim Ouma and Corey Spinks fights. I was ****ing yelling at the television for him to stop going backwards. Very stressful stuff.
Took a smoke break during the Pac v Hatton fight and almost missed the fight ... The fight that I almost lost my voice in was the Cotto v Margarito fight ... I'm not the biggest fan of margarito and I was 100% sure that Margarito was going to get stopped ... I was in the minority and was proven wrong. All I could say for 2 days was "what the f**k !!"
vargas/trinidad was the first fight i lost my voice in. i was screaming for vargas to get up and for trinidad to stay down lol.
Well, Margarito has been shown to be a cheater. So, it's fair to assume he has done such in the past as well. I consider the Cotto fight a wash. It's a No Contest in my mind.
