Nope, i don't think so. Ortiz will eat Whyte alive. Whyte has nothing to hurt Kong. Whyte is featherfisted for a HW, slow, easy to hit. Kong is a world class southpaw, has enormous power, genious ring iq and FAST hands. He nearly beat Wilder. Probably 10-15 seconds away from that point. Probably the only HW out there apart from AJ who came to that point. Kong will stop Whyte without any problem.
once thurman gets back in the mix we need thurman vs spence. also the winner of jeff horn vs bud crawford should fight the winner of pacman vs lucas. winner of danny garcia vs porter should fight the winner of spence vs ocampo. sense we kno thurman wont b ready any time soon.
its not looking like its gonna happen immediately bout charlo vs hurd is the best fight at 154. not looking likely . alot of ppl want hurd. and hurd wants brook. theres talks of rematches lara and harrision.
Frampton v any of the featherweight Champs at Windsor Park. Loma v Garcia Joshua v Wilder Crawford v Spence Golovkin v Canelo II Saunders v Jacobs Brook v Khan Burnett v Inoue Usyk v Gassiev Wangek v Ancajas Niete v Rosales Kovalev v Bivol Shiro v Taguchi Groves v Smith Hurd v Charlo Lipinets v Prograis Freshsmart v Menayothin Rigondeaux v Dogboe .... And I want them all on the same card
Kind of looking forward to Hrgovic and Dychko stepping up against the ABC's top 15's. And Usyk in that mix too. Hope those fights get made sooner rather than later.
i just think ortiz is too old now and that the loss to wilder will massively damage his confidence, think whyte will take him deep and outwork him. ortiz of 5/6 years is a different story though.
I do not let the "too old" argument count here, sorry. Ortiz fought ~two months ago and looked AWESOME. I only can repeat: Rewatch the fight if you don't believe me. He outboxed Wilder. He looked sharp and fast in that fight and he was definitely UP on the cards till the stoppage. He was WINNING. I can't see any sign for a declining Ortiz. I agree in one point: there is a questionmark over Ortiz about his confidence after getting knocked down/out for the first time in his career. BUT i don't think he will quit from boxing at the inside. He is too experienced and he knows that he faced one of the hardest punching guys in the business, prob THE hardest punching guy so what happened can happen in such a matchup. Whyte is a complete different story by the way. Or better said: Whyte/Ortiz is a different matchup and i think it's a matchup that suits Ortiz much more than Whyte. Whyte is no brawler like Wilder is. Whyte is anxious, doesn't want to get hit in the ring and he hasn't the power to hurt Ortiz like Wilder did. He is also easier to hit. Whyte also has no advantage in terms of size or reach like Wilder had. I can't see Ortiz losing to Whyte. Whyte had problems to take out Dave Allen ffs and wasn't able. No chance to stop Ortiz imo, and skillwise Ortiz is one level above Whyte AT LEAST. There is probably not a single fighter in HWD who can OUTBOX Ortiz. Maybe AJ like he did vs Parker. Ortiz' counterpunching skills are too good, world class.
