Prior to his face peeling away Vitali was on his way to stopping Lewis or Lewis was on his way to stopping Vitali.

Yeah, I don't see how anyone objective can really say with a whole lot of confidence that one guy was certainly going to win.

Lewis was exhausted, Vitali was tired too and falling all over Lewis at the end of the 6th after taking a short right hand inside.

That Pavlik-Martinez was a 1 sided drubbing. People seem to forget that Pavlik was actually up after the 8th or 9th round. Martinez cut him and then proceeded to sweep the championship rounds.

Yeah he rolled the dice standing and trading with Kelly after it seemed Pavlik had somewhat figured him out.
The cut pretty much ended the fight.

How are you doing in your ballet class??? Better than you are in the boxing class I hope because if you think SERIOUSLY that Calzaghe won that fight you know NOTHING about boxing:good

Yeah, it was a competitive fight. Sergio really turned things around with the cut, which helped him sweep the last 4 rounds.

The consensus score after 8 was 76-75 Pavlik.

That Pacquiao-Marquez III was an easy to score 117-111, 116-112 fight for Marquez and one of the worst robberies in recent years.

The truth: close fight with many hard to score swing rounds. The average press score of 114-114 was a reasonable reflection of what actually went on.

A shot Hopkins got robbed by a prime Calzaghe.

    Correct translation

A past prime Hopkins lost fair and square against Calzaghe, who was past prime himself by the way.

Yes. I remember this as the textbook fight of "easiest fight to score ever."

Sergio won the first 4 rounds.

Pavlik won the next 4 rounds, including one KD.

Sergio won the last 4 rounds.

    Recent fights:

I've heard people refer to Donaire's victories over Vazquez Jr. and Mathebula as being "really close fights." They were competitive, but not close. Donaire won 9 rounds in each of them, 8 at the absolute worst.

People try to act like David Haye wasn't the consensus top contender to the Klitschko's. Resume, talent... whatever he was lacking in retrospect, at the time, everyone viewed him as the most realistic semi-proven opponent for Wladimir.

I've heard people refer to Mayweather vs. Corley as some sort of negative for Mayweather because "he struggled and got staggered." This fight was in fact an offensive showcase for Mayweather, who may have lost a round or two at most.

Shumenov vs. Campillo. When people discuss the robbery of the second fight, they generally consider Campillo's decision over Shumenov in their first fight to be extremely legit on the principle of the result. It was an extremely close fight which I scored a draw and certainly could see either way... Also, in regards to their second fight, I do think it is possible to score 4 rounds to Shumenov without being legally blind (no way there were 5 rounds arguable to Shu, though).

Judah vs. Matthysse... Unlike Matthysse's close but clear to score loss to Alexander, which should have been a close Matthysse win, his fight with Judah was very close. To say Matthysse was "robbed" against Judah is a ridiculous claim to anyone who has seen the fight and doesn't hold a bias for the aggressor in a fight.

People who say that the outcome of Ward vs. Kessler was affected by the referee and that it was a highly dirty contest. My advice to you guys out there: don't watch Abner Mares or Hopkins fight... ever.

EDIT: Also, speaking of Abner Mares; I don't think Agbeko even gets the credit he deserves for their fights. That first fight was a point away from being a draw, and the KD call (the single worst in recent years... maybe history) directly changed a 10-9 Agbeko round to a 10-8 Mares round... Also, while the second fight may have been a relatively sound and comfortable victory, it also was highly dirty by anyone's standards other than Mares' and Agbeko won a few rounds for sure.

Mayweather judah was close even when mayweather took over judah was still landing just not as much as mayweather saying it was on the verge of stopping is an exaggeration.

Mayweather oscar was close too I even thinnk oscar did better when he wasint pushing mayuweather into the corner as maywethar got a lot of good counters but it was tight but oscar was at his best when he was using the jab

Mayweather Hatton was close too not domination and the ref was in a bit quick but I dont take anything away from him great knockout

When Ceferino Garcia was a middleweight champion, he drew with Henry Armstrong in an fight that people said Armstrong deserved to win.

In actuality, it was a 10 round bout that was recognized only by California as a middleweight championship fight.

Garcia was recognized by the NYSAC as the MW champ while Holstak was recognized by the national Boxing Association as the mw champ.

People talk about "the days" when there was one belt per weight class, but in actuality there has been at least 2 recognized titles since the 1920s

I agree. Hearns was almost out on on his feet, but to be hoenst, so was Leonard. Even when Leonard almost had him out, Hearns landed a nice left hook. Hearns took a lot out of guys he fought even in losing. They were never the same after fighting Hearns.
