Margarito vs Williams shouldn't count because Williams was the mandatory challenger.

To be honest, I wasn't big on Cotto-Pac atall. Everything just seemed to be at a disadvantage to Cotto. Weight, venue, recent form, scar tissue, Bob Arum's hopeful result etc, and he had just come out of a bloody war with Clottey, that wasn't even impressive. He still looked un-sure of himself coming out of that fight, and was fairly lucky to even get the decision (I had him winning by a round or two). Obviously the money involved was major, and if Cotto were to defeat Pac he would have been at the top again, so I understand why he took it. I wish he took an easy fight or two and fully repaired himself, but fair play to him as he made a career record earning. Let me not forget, it was a great and exciting fight!

    FAIL

FLOYD-OSCAR WAS HUGE AND OBVIOUSLY PEOPLE WANTED TO SEE IT...LOOK AT THE HYPE BUILT UP AND LOOK HOW MANY CASUAL FANS IT DREW...

FLOYD TOOK SHARMBA CUZ HE HAD A DATE IN NOV WITH ZAB....ZAB ENDED UP WITH A MANDATORY IN CARLOS..WE KNOW THE REST...

BRUSELES WAS A TITLE ELIMINATOR :deal U SHOULDNT KNOCK FIGHTERS FOR TAKING TITLE ELIMINATORS OR MANDATORYS...ITS THE PROCESS THEY MUST GO THROUGH...BULL**** POLITICS NONE THE LESS BUT CANT KNOCK THE FIGHTER FOR DOIN WHAT HE GOTTA DO TO GET THE TITLE SHOT

BALDOMIR WAS FOR THE LINEAL CHAMPIONSHIP...AS I RECALL FLOYD WANTED OSCAR SEPT 2006 BUT THEY COULDN'T GET THAT DONE...HIS NEXT CHOICE WAS MOSLEY AND THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN CUZ MOSLEY NEEDED A FEW MONTHS TO TRAIN...

PAC-OSCAR WAS A BIG FIGHT AS IT TOLD US ALL IF OSCAR WAS FINISHED OR IF HE STILL HAD SOMETHING LEFT IN HIM..MATTER OF FACT THE UNDERDOG WON THAT FIGHT

JOE C VS MANFREDO WAS POINTLESS...JOE WAS TRYING TO FIGHT A "WELL KNOWN" OPPONENT AND PETER WAS COMING OFF THE CONTENDER ABOUT A YEAR BEFORE...

JOE C VS RJJ WAS A GOOD FIGHT...JOE HAD JUSS BEATEN BHOP AND HE WATNED THE OTHER LEGEND....NEVER SEEN RJJ GET SCHOOLED LIKE THAT...SEEN HIM BEAT UP AND KNOCKED OUT BUT NEVER REALLY SCHOOLED...

PAC-MORALES 3 WAS THE RUBBERMATCH...THE 2ND FIGHT WAS AWESOME AND THE 3RD FIGHT WAS MADE FOR THE RIGHT REASONS...OF COURSE ERIC WAS DONE BY THIS BUT STILL WAS A GOOD FIGHT TO MAKE IMO

FORREST FOUGHT MORA CUZ HE HAD EARNED A NAME THROUGH THE CONTENDER....NICE PAYDAY FOR FORREST....HE LOST THE FIRST 1 I THINK CUZ HE DIDN'T TAKE MORA SERIOUS...2ND ONE MADE A DECENT REMATCH

    TRY AGAIN NEXT TIME..U GOT 1 RIGHT...MANFREDO-JOE C:thumbsup

    Why?

Vernon was the man and he wanted to unify all the belts.Fighting Mayorga made sense.

Zab vs Tszyu-same thing,it was for the undisputed 140 lb title between the 2 best fighters of the division.

No doubt that Cotto got ****ed over by Arum. No way in hell should he have been put in there with Clottey when he had a potential fight with Pac on the horizon. Not many come out of a Clottey fight unscathed. That situation stunk from the beginning.

any gatti fight after mayweather didn't have to happen. he should have retired after that. i have a feeling we will be saying that vasquez-marquez doesn't need to happen. i think they both took a lot out of each other. pbf-marquez could be on this list. i still can't beleive i ordered that ****.

Williams was his mandatory that's why Marg took it. Margarito wanted the Cotto fight to be a unification fight even though Arum clearly told Marg's team to ditch that fight and drop the title since the Cotto fight was already signed with a date confirmed and mentioned. The fight with Sharmba Mitchell was for the #1 spot on the WBO rankings.

Yes, but Cotto was a titlist at the time, so either one would have been a title fight. He actually had the Cotto fight scheduled and in the bag, and pulled out to face Williams.
