the guy is a 4-time BWAA trainer of the year. if that doesn't make him a great trainer, then I don't know what will... even floyd sr. and roger mayweather have yet to get their hands on this presitigious boxing award. roach simply can't win all the fights he's involved in considering the multitude of fighters he trains.
When you have trained as many fighters as Roach has done you gonna have your share of losses but you only need to see the work he has done with Pac and is now doing with khan not to mention helping Toney coming out of the dead and taking him to the top once again to see hes a great trainer he does need to tone down the trash talk and leave that **** to the annoying attention seekers like the Mayweathers.

Trainers shouldn't be judged on overall win-loss record. Especially when you have someone like Freddy who is loyal to his fighters even when they're past their best and would be losing fights no matter who was in their corner (up to a certain point - he did walk away from Toney after a while). You also certainly can't go by one-off performances when they've only done a single camp with a particular fighter. You judge them on the basis of how well they develop their long-term projects. Roach probably has dozens of losses - he might even have an overall losing record. That doesn't make him a bad trainer. Look at his development of Pacquiao (and Toney before him) and you know he's a good trainer.
You must be one of the dumbest guys on here... you really think a trainer is not that Great if some of his fighters lose? You can't be serious?
that actually makes him a great trainer, well maybe not the whole getting caught aprt, but that he would take initiative and givee substances shows that he cares and is smart :good
