I just got done watching Ring Magazine fights of the year 1973-2010. I was wondering if I actually saw the best fights from each year. How was Ali-Spinks 2 voted fight of the year over Norton-Holmes? I also thought Pryor-Arguello 1 and Hagler-Mugabi should of won over Chacon-Limon and Cruz-Mcguigan. Which fights should and should not be on this? I am sure there is a better fight in 1973 than the Foreman-Frazier wipe out

    1973 Foreman-Frazier I
    1974 Ali-Foreman
    1975 Ali-Frazier III
    1976 Foreman-Lyle

    1978 Spinks-Ali I
    1979 Lopez-Ayala
    1980 Muhammad-Lopez
    1981 Leonard-Hearns
    1982 Chacon-Limon
    1983 Chacon-Boza-Edwards
    1984 Ramirez-Rosario
    1985 Hagler-Hearns
    1986 Cruz-Mcguigan

    1988 Lockridge-Lopez
    1989 Duran-Barkley
    1990 Chavez-Taylor I
    1991Quiroga-Anifowoshe

    2003- Toney-Jirov or Gomez-Arthur
    1977- Franklin (Saad Muhammad)-M. Johnson 1
    1981- Lee-LoCicero
    1996- Barrera-McKinney. Holyfield-Tyson 1 was a terrible choice. Barrera-McKinney, Bowe-Golota 2, Gatti-Rodriguez, Liles-Littles 2, and Kelley-Gainer 1 were all better fights.

I got the insanely brutal Benn-McClellan slugfest for '95, but it didn't win for obvious reasons.

1994 could have gone to Chavez-Randall 1. Castro-Jackson 1 had that amazing ending, but sitting all the way through, Chavez-Randall 1 was better because so much more of the fight was competitive two-way action.

I think The Ring named it Fight of the Decade in a later issue though.

1973: A bunch, with Taylor-Anaya and Hererra-Borkasohr leading the pack.
    1977: Monzon-Valdez II
    1978: Saad-Kates

2000 Should have been Trinidad vs Vargas.

"And he closes the show like the champion he is..."
"did they get their money's worth George?"

Alot of the earlier awards were based on importance with the favor on the Heavyweights. 77, Had Zarate-Zamora? but you need to rewatch Chacon- Limon. a war, doesnt get any better than that!
