how about Holmes/Foreman in the 90's?

Apparently they were close to agreeing a fight as late as 1999! imo the comebacking Holmes would have outpointed the older Foreman comfortably.

However, even though they are of a similar age, their primes never really overlapped - Holmes was not yet a big name by the time the 28 yr old Foreman retired.

In 1983, Ayala-Moore, Tony easily wins title, next is Duran....after deep-frying Duran, Tony's next defense is either Benitez or Kalule.

Quite the hat trick, during a year ending in 3.

One I truly wished had happened. Hagler /Hearns 2. It would have occured on the night Hagler(who has showed signs of fading) fought Mugabi in a tough match and Hearns(who peaked that night according to Emanual Steward)Koed James Shuler in the first. This time Hearns has no broked hand and strong legs, and a vendetta from the early ko in the first brutal fight.. Pounds the tar out of Hagler in a brilliant boxing punching display, even knocking the marvelous one down or out, otherwise going on to win a unanimous decision or tireing getting koed by Hagler himself. Remember this would be Hearns at his absolute best. Hagler would'nt of had the hunger as he did before.

I'll say Leonard may have stopped Pryor.

Hopkins was better in the late 90's, whereas Toney was better in the early 90's, though more inconsistent. At their respective bests I'd take Hopkins, early on in their careers it's still a relative toss-up, but Toney at his MW best may take the nod against a younger B-Hop.

Tito by KO. Mosley was there to bang and there to be hit, and was never the most skilled technical boxer. Not to mention with the size disadvantage, I think this is Tito's fight, though he'd probably get to him later as Mosley would try to box.

Marquez was the more skilled boxer, probably would land too often on Morales with counter punches. However, Marquez was hittable as well, and Morales could turn this into a brawl at times, though I think for the most part Marquez would look to counter and would do so effectively.

    Agreed.

You really think Foreman would've out-pointed Holmes? Foreman was not a good boxer by any means, Holmes was one of the best in HW history with the jab. He'd have pieced Foreman up in a boxing match, and if he used his movement and jab all night, would've kept him at bay throughout, as Foreman was no master boxer.

I would have taken Leonard over Pryor, but you better believe he will work for that one.

Prime 4 prime i take Hopkins over Toney (we did this on another thread recently), at that time i dont know, but i'll just say Hopkins to emphasize my poiint there.

I must disagree on Tito-Mosley, as i dont see Mosley as a great boxer, he can box, but is not great on the backfoot by any means, i think he was GREAT in attacking terms though, but attack just doesnt beat Trinidad for me at 147, no matter how fast, silky and explosive you are, bar if you are Sugar Ray Robinson! Kidding, anyway, i see a great tear-up, and Mosley could actually do it, but for me, Tito's accurate one's will win it for him, if not by stoppage though.

I dont know about Marquez-Morales, Morales greater, but h2h Marquez may be very underrated and could possibly be one of the best in recent times, he never dissapoints in terms of effectiveness imo. I might pick him here as much as i wouldnt like to, but i will pick Morales because i think he was absolutely prolific at this time we are talking, he just fought his hart out against every1 and unless he was fighting Barerra, i was usually very confident he would get the result.

Lewis beats Bowe for me, and Holmes beats Foreman imo
