I don't think you have grasped the idea of what a good fight is.

One sided fights are boring imo.

I nominate ortiz vs maidana a modern day future classic very short but very entertaining fight similar to the hamed kelley fight in a way.

Easy Cotto vs Torres an unknown puncher of Colombia with a future star in Cotto, turn out to be a brutal fight.

I remember thinking Corrales vs Castillo would be a darn good fight never expected to be an all time great. I remember my freind passing it up to hang out with his slut GF his words where "it will be ok but probablly not great". A few months later I had him watch it on Showtime OnDemand he was kicking himself for missing it and I woke up a few hours later to see him watching it agian.

    That fight was terrible.
Yeah that was a good one.

Brewster vs Liakhovich- Brewster was coming off the Golota beating and was suppose to do the same to the unknown euro who got KO by Mo Harris. Turned out to be one of the best heavyweight fights in this decade.

Cotto vs Malignaggi- Cotto was suppose to walk through and easily stop the feather fisted pretty boy.

Mosley vs Vargas 1- Better then expected esp considering at the time both fighters were considered washed up.

    Winky vs Taylor

Personally I really didnt think Marquez vs Vazquez 1 was gonna be that great. Both guys had been in great fights and could crack but in most of there fights there would pick there shots and would be boring at times. I figured they would be cautious esp Marquez they'd spilt KD's but Vazquez would eventually stop the smaller chinny Marquez. Boy was I wrong.

I actually didn't even realize you said "fighters".

Ya, that's a good list of fights. Real scraps. First time I saw Barrera vs. Morales I was years after I'd heard about how good it was. Just had to laugh sometimes, it was so action packed. Those guys were made for each other.

    Alex Arthur vs Michael Gomez

Arthur was Frank Warren's rising star at the time and Gomez was widely expected to be a walkover as Arthur looked to gain the British title outright, however Gomez put up probably the best performance of his career and stopped Arthur in his backyard.

Available on YouTube, I highly recommend it.

How?? If anything, it was way under expectations, not an exciting fight at all. However, that being said, Barros really didn't give Gamboa any trouble, not like Mtagwa to Lopez. Gamboa was in control the whole night.

Steven Lueavano vs. Mario Santiago - Two southpaw boxer/punchers..almost promised to be lackluster on paper. But in the ring, it ended up being a fight of the year candidate.

Agreed. I envisioned this going similar to Dirrell-Stevens. Boy, I was wrong.
