I think I’ve told this story before, but…

That fight was originally scheduled for San Diego the month before. I, at 12 years old, was staying with family friends down there. I had a $5 ticket for my very first pro fight card. Norton was one of my favorites. Gerry Cooney was appearing in an exhibition on the undercard. I was really excited.

But alas, Norton pulled out with an injury and the fight was rescheduled. I finally got to see it when it showed up on YouTube decades later.

Danny Williams vs Mike Tyson. This fight looked like a one sided beat down on paper. What a performance from Danny Williams.

Another great example is Leonard vs Duran in Montreal.
Leonard was supposed to win that fight easily being the
younger, faster, stronger man fighting at his natural weight.
What Duran did that night is one of the best performances in
    boxing history.
Though I do believe most of us underestimated how well Duran
carried his weight at welter. That weight limit fit him almost like a glove.
