After a series of disappointing fights this year here is my list of fights that need to be made in 2012 to put boxing back in the spotlight:

    Pacquiao vs. Mayweather

    Cotto vs. Martinez

    Marquez vs. Morales

    Donaire vs. Gamboa

    Ward vs. Bute

    Rios vs Maidana

    Make them happen!!!

All great sounding fights but they're not enough to save boxing. Corruption, too many organizations/titles/weight classes, PPV/Premium Cable fights, a weak heavyweight division, and a lack of charismatic fighters, is what is drawing people away from the sport.

Any fight in which the ref & judges aren't paid off.

    - It's a very short list.

let me ask you guys, people always say "save" boxing. how would you know boxing has been "saved"? what would need to happen for people to know that boxing has been "saved"?

if it needs to be saved in terms of marketability, simply do this, produce a few young mike tysons across all weight classes, a few muhammad alis, naseem hameds, ricardo mayorgas, floyd mayweathers and carl frochs, and throw in a few "great white hope" characters, like gerry cooney. that would definitely save it in america. sense the sarcasm? this "save boxing" business is ridiculous
