So there's no underground Greb then? What exciting underground fights are there?

  2. We're transferring into the information era now, where most information is becoming attainable for free or a small cost. (youtube, wikipedia, boxrec anyone?)

The avenue for contributing your work to thousands fans and more importantly generatations to come is certainly becoming common place.

By all means reward yourself for hard work but depriving historical footage for self orientated reasons is very disappointing and dishonorable to be honest.

Personally I completely understand someone protecting their investment, its interlectual property they have investment in. Maybe they could make a subscription youtube type site, that was impossible to download from (although obviously some wise guy techie would figure out how to)

  4. It's not making money thats bad, it's keeping the rare fights locked in a vault to retain their value thats dishonorable. Who cares about your 'investment', many thousands of people who are now affected so one man can keep something valuable.

How can you see something reasonablein that?

You see guys selling ALI sets for $300+ a pop, you can't tell me they're not earning a nice profit. Could you imagine the horrible scenerio where those amazing fights were only accessable by a select few and kept in some collectors vault to retain a high monetary value.

They say the highest measure of a man is his usefulness on his surrounding environment.

So why dont all of use pitch in one dollar a month, and get a new fight every month?

Thats the greatest way to go about it. Think about it, we can revolutionize the sport and free all the films! :D

Good for you, but here is a little something for you to chew on kangaroo jack, had you not been such a complete and utter ******* towards me right from the get-go you may well have had that footage of Carruthers/Songkitrat much sooner.

Had your approach been different you may well have gotten the footage from me for free, but your attitude prevented that from ever happening. There is a lot to be said for good manners and courtesy, and you showed neither which is why you and people like you end up with nothing.

That wouldn`t work, think about it. Your gonna get together 200-300 people to chip in 1$ each for a single fight, but then the person you are getting the footage from will have to send a copy to each and every person who coughed up a buck?

And then there is also the fact that the fight will have lost all its value, seeing as how now all of a sudden every Tom, Dick and Harry can easily obtain a copy. Things have value and are considered rare because they are hard to come by and not easily obtained, and even if you can obtain it valuable things are never cheap.

Sorry to cut into the debate here but I have a question hoping someone could answer: I heard that Dempsey-Fulton was filmed and then trashed because it was not seen was marketable, it only lasted 18 seconds in which Dempsey slaughtered Fulton, but Im guessing mot people here know that, anyone got anything on this fight film? Was it really destroyed? Only asking cuz there seems to be quite a few guys who have a substantial amount of knowledge on fight films of the past, anyone got info on this fight?

Someone mentioned that fight a week or so ago, about it being scrapped as it wasn't long enough to show anywhere...I can't remember who it was now :huh

Just been reading Papa Jack (Johnson Biography) and it's mentioned a few times that he carried opponents so that the film would be worth more. Maybe there is something in that.

As RB says; be polite, and you may be pleasently surprised.

Be a dick, and you're not gonna' get any favours. I know this from experience from dealing with him; I have had some awesome treats and deals from the man, and why?

    Respect:deal
