Leonard never wanted any part of Pryor..the rumor was at the time, was one of the reasons he retired was to not fight Pryor. Leonard should have re-matched Hearns earlier and give Hagler another shot. Toney was weight drained and a motivated Toney would have beat Roy.I think that fight caused most of his downfall.

the same was true for British middleweights late 30s through to mid 40s (McAvoy, Sadd & Gilroy), and of course finishing with Turpin late 40s early 50s.

there were some good possibilities there as well.

havent gone thru the whole thread but here some that come to mind

Cuevas-Palomino the 2 best ww before Duran,Leonard,Hearns,Benitez came on the scene a pickem match IMO and guaranteed war.

Duran-Pryor Duran never stopped at JW, if he did it would have been a little before Pryors prime..But even at catch weight would have been awesome.. I think Duran would stops him in the mid to late rounds but would have been an awesome fight.

Sanchez-Pedroza where both on top at the same time..Many think style wise Pedroza would have given him problems.. To bad we never got to find out.

Duran-Ayala fight almost went thru.. This would have put to rest, if Ayala was really a legend in the making or overrated an untested...I think Duran would have to be in peak shape to pull this off. I think Ayala would do good early and really make Duran dig deep,,but his experience would pay off..Duran comes from behind to stop Ayala late.. Duran Tko 12

Danny Lopez-Wilfredo Gomez tough one to call...Gomez the more skilled fighter, edge in speed and boxing ability...But i think Danny even hit harder than Gomez... GOmez would punish him early and it would look like a mismatch,,,but Danny hangs on and pulls Gomez into a war..Lopez way behind on points comes on good late and scores a late ko... Lopez ko 12.

Tszyu vs Mosley or ODLh....Great fights but both ODLH and Mosley take Tszyu..... I think Oscar would stop Tszyu.. Tszyu would give Oscar all he wanted early, but he finds his range in the mid rounds busting him up with his jab and getting the better of the exchanges, he measures up Tszyu and kos him in the 8th.,,, Mosley-Tszyu would be similar but it might take Mosley a little longer, Mosley would have to dig deep but his edge in speed would be the difference here. Mosley tko 11.

Jones-Mccellan would be very intresting... i think HTH Jones is the best mw ever..But this is one guy who might have taken him... FOr as awesome as a prime Jones was,,ireally believe even back then that his chin probably wasnt to hot.... Mccellan also beat him a couple times in the amatuers.. I go with Jones but only make him a slight favorite.. I could see Mccellan icing him.

Wills-Demspey and Pacquiao-Mayweather are the two that really stick out for me. On a personal note, Robinson-Burley and Armstrong-Burley are a miss, going back a bit Walcott-Ryan is a legitimate super-fight that didn't take place.

Probably the biggest Welterweight/Super-Welterweight fight to have NOT been made aside from Pryor vs. Leonard and now Mayweather vs. Pacman.

We cannot have a repeat of Pryor and Leonard with Mayweather and Pacman. We just can't afford it. History deserves to tell the true story!

Nobody wanted to pay money to see Tyson vs. Moorer. LOL... neither did anyone outside of Europe care for a Jones vs. Machilzcheski either. That Jones vs. Macblablablah fight was a fabricated German wish list to see their guy get his arse handed to him on German soil.
    :smoke

The Germans are sadistic to that extent!
