Fights Where A Supposed Crude, Power-Reliant Puncher Puts on a Masterclass Clinic???

    Boxing fans usually are suckers when it comes to confusing speed/style with skill.

    Just because a fighter hits hard and uses a relatively textbook style doesn't remotely mean he's unskilled. Even fighters with a more brawling style (Mayorga, Maidana) can be extremely skillful.

    I definitely count Maidana vs. Broner and the early parts of Maidana vs. Mayweather I, though.

    Kelly Pavlik vs Jermain Taylor 1 and 2 are good examples of this. Pavliks boxing skills were sometimes sold short and even a shell of himself was outpointing Martinez, till he gassed and was cut to ribbons.
