Jorge Paez wearing down Silky Smooth Calvin Grove in a bullring in MexiCali with some help from the blistering heat. Grove had built a decent lead only to wilt in the 15th round going to the canvas 3 times.

Paez won the decision and the title. I was told by Grove's brother just a few years ago that they were and still are grateful the judges didn't give Calvin the decision. (Though Grove probably deserved it)

Things were getting ugly with the crowd that day.

For now; but I am flattered someone remembered me! ;)

But what happened to... everyone else? I looked through some old threads, and it seemed quite a few folks got banned? I was a bit taken aback, because these were not the type of troll posters whom I expected to get banned eventually.

P.S. Yes, I stopped posting for two reasons. First, I got tired of embroiled in online arguments where one guy will keep arguing endlessly, even though he is clearly, transparently, self-evidently wrong because it is internet (and every argument therein is valid). Second, I've got disillusioned with the contemporary boxing scene. I think I haven't watched a live bout in at least five years? Still enjoy old fights though.

I remember you too, mate. Glad to see you posting again, I thought you'd be summoned by the mention of Yuh

LOL, I definitely remember you, friend! ;) Yeah, I had COVID and watched a lot of old fights (or highlights) as well as some nostalgic television shows on Youtube about the "death of Korean boxing." And that somehow jogged my memories and made me remember this forum.

By the way, one of those shows (actually several) had Chang and Yuh sitting together and it was so startling to see how much bigger Yuh is. Yuh doesn't look like he's suddenly got fat; it looked like his frame was just way larger. I never got this sense when they were fighting, and it really startled me.

I'm the same as you mate. The forum is still the same as ever, only we seem to have moved on from Rocky and Primo to Foreman arguments. I think the bans were due to a crackdown on the incessant and pedantic 'discussions' that we are all familiar with. I also lost interest in the current boxing scene for quite while, but it's good to chat here sometimes.

Your posts were always great. It's good to see you posting.
