I agree with Mims-Archer, but the last time I watched it about 12 or so years ago (and I also saw it as a teenager when it was first televised), I thought it was Mims who outboxed Archer even though he didn't get the decision. They were both excellent boxers so whichever way you look at it, the fight meets the criterion.

    I also agree with Erskine-Pastrano.

    So does Mrs. Alabama Wurley.

I immediately thought of Sugar Ray outboxing Benitez

You’re delusional if you think the size advantage had nothing to do with it.

Any 118-122 would have to respect Rigo’s power. Maybe even 126.

    Also age.

Antonio Gomez twice vs Ernesto Marcel. Gomez was about on par with Marquez and Barrera ability-wise imo as a featherweight, absolutely excellent fighter and a very classy technician, hugely underrated.

I wish we had footage of Borkhorsor breaking down Betulio Gonzalez and shutting out Salavarria. Serious, serious achievements on paper. Venice must have been an absolute unit at flyweight, Galaxy-esque.

Rose vs Harada still blows my mind. It was essentially a big featherweight vs a bantamweight, but Christ on a stick, man, that's Fighting Harada in there. Still, it wasn't nearly as one-sided as some of the other mentions on here, but then again none of the defeated men mentioned so far were in Harada's league.

Olivares vs Castillo in the third fight. Ruben out-countered him completely and won going away, and Castillo was a fine technician and a great bantamweight. Again, not as one-sided as Mayweather-Marquez for example, but Castillo was a better fighter at that point than JMM was in the Mayweather fight, easily so imo, and he wasn't at a size or style disadvantage.

Nelson vs Whitaker. Nelson held the weight well and would have been good enough to beat plenty of decent lightweights, and Pea wasn't really bigger than him for me. Hard to give the Prof more than a couple of rounds.

Like Borkhorsor against Gonzalez and Salavarria, it's a shame we don't have footage of Driscoll vs Attell and Larkin vs Preacher Graham.

I was thinking of Lora vs Davila and Zaragoza, but Davila was well long in the tooth and Zaragoza falls a bit short of what I'd consider to be a highly skilled fighter.

Conteh Vs Yaqui Lopez maybe, but again it hinges on how skilled/good you think Lopez was.

Nearly all of these types of schoolings or beatings have caveats to a certain degree; both fighters being equal and at their respective bests are very rare.

    This.

I remember SRL being surprised about being behind at the time of stoppage, but he was thoroughly out boxed.

The judges had it by a small margin for Hearns. I had it much wider.

There's footage of him on YouTube looking fab in taking out the very good Saijo as well as losing to Marcel.

What difference would it really have been had Loma fought Rigo at 122 or 126? Loma was always going to give Rigo problems due to his style and superior skills. Stop with the excuses.

Sadly, we’ll never know because Lomachenko robbed us of a special fight by waiting until Rigondeaux was 38 and making him jump to 130 from 122.

Nah you can blame that on Rigo himself. It's been known that he was the one ducking Loma when he kept pricing himself out. Again, stop making excuses for Rigo getting outboxed and then quitting in the process.

Salido taught Loma to stay away from vets at their normal weight. He’s an Arum Good Boy. Not the first. Might be the last.

Ummmm sure, whatever you say I guess. From each responses it just sounds like you're still bitter about the result of that fight. I'm done talking about this.
