Sigh, you chin checking dick takers are not fans of the sport at all. Having a chin is only one small aspect of fighting and I fear your obsessions over it. Talk about gameplans, styles, great fights displaying versatile aspects of the sport.
And it is the aspect being discussed in this thread, which is a positive thread in case you haven't noticed.
It is an aspect but they obsess over it though, that's the problem. It takes more than a chin to win a fight as you get scored for landing punches.
Maybe, but it is not a problem in this particular case. If you have not ever been impressed with a certain fighter's ability to take a punch (Hagler in my case) then you are missing something special about this sport.
That's the only aspect they truly care about so it's them who miss something special about the sport not me. I for instance love defensive fighters and precision inside work but I can appreciate a good brawl or an outside fight too. Plus I have a long history of messing with chincheckers lol.
Fair enough, but don't let that prevent you from enjoying some awesome examples of chin and heart that this thread is focusing:good Edit: I'm a Mayweather fan; so, I appreciate defensive fighting as well. And Hagler/Minter
Heart? yeah sure. Chin? I can appreciate that but it's the sweet science, the art of hitting and not getting hit. Not saying brawlers can't/shouldn't make it far or be loved but they lack the true fundamentals of "boxing" which in itself is amazing thinking that they're so limited but can still be legit champs. That alone earns my respect. I appreciate Andre Ward more than I do Gatti but respect both as fighters. And these 'checkers calling Ward a glass jawed fighter for him rarely taking a big shot just shows how limited they are as "boxing fans" which they're not. TBF, Gatti had skill as shown in Ward 2 but the man just loved a war. It takes guts to go in one so I salute him for giving his all just for us guys who only care about chins and will bash him when he goes down in fights we watch. jk RIP Gatti!
This is a boxing Internet Message board. We talk chins here. Live with it or log out. To answer the thread: Wlad was on the canvas three times against Sam Peter. I understand Wlad is assumed to have a glass jaw, but getting back up and keep doing your job should be seen as a good sign. A really, really week jaw is when you stumble around after getting caught one time.
And Wlad only went down from one clean kd out of those 3 times(other two were rabbitpunches). He has been stopped yes but he doesn't qualify as having a glass jaw. He has shown to be in decent shape taking flush punches but the main thing is like Mayweather or Ward, rarely do flush shots land on them which is a good attribute to have especially for longetivity. Also, he has never been out cold on the canvas he always beat the count despite not being able to continue.
