Frazier vs Ali I also being a Frazier fan I love that fight but Ali was the better overall fighter and he lost.

Boxing is about being the better man on fight night.

Unless there is a downright robbery or something bizarre happens, then the better man wins. Most of the examples given in this thread are garbage.

For example, Froch beat Taylor fair and square. Therefore Froch is the better man. Anyone who says otherwise should take up another sport or bash their head against a wall. Or preferably both.

Oh yeah, Frazier-Ali II and II. Maybe Ali was a better fighter but Frazier was a better man ;)

Skill level they were about even. On the physical side. Ali had the faster hand speed and footwork. But Frazier had the power. So naw I disagree they were both even, which is why they always had great fights.

This ain't about beating someone fair and square. No one is taking away anything from Froch.

Just pointing out the fact that Taylor had the physical advantages and experience coming into the fight and he still lost. On paper Taylor should have beaten Froch but he didn't. Do you get it now?

Yeah some fighters are made to fight eachother they had different skills Ali was the pure boxer with fast hands, incredible footwork, impeccable reflexes, accuracy, a great chin the whole enchilada except for fighting on the inside. While Frazier was the HW swarmer, slipping and ducking his way inside, incredible in-fighter, cut the ring off better than any HW I can think of and that left hook was a thing of beauty also his power on top of that. You could argue they're both even in there own respectable ways but Ali was certainly the favorite when they both where undefeated and Ali lost, also since everyone rates Ali higher than Frazier the better man lost that day at least in general.

i still think taylor is head and shoulders above froch. he was winning that fight comfortably untill he had no stamina and folded in the last round. not frochs fault but my nan would have probably stopped taylor in that last round.

That is an absolutely shithouse example, with no merit, you should log out. If Kostya didn't time him in the second, he would have timed him in the 3rd, or the 4th, or the 5th. He is clearly the better fighter. When are you idiots going to learn that just because a fighter is black and has fast hands doesn't mean he is Floyd Mayweather.
