    Also, in both cases they broke with tradition and the champion (coincidentally both from NW England) came out first.

    Frazier was a 3 1/2-1 fave which flies in the face of a lot of after the fact theories in here.

    Interesting. I remember that Durham was dead against this fight and most people felt that Foreman was all wrong for Frazier.

    Joe Frazier was a big favourite going into that fight having just beaten Muhammad Ali, then Foreman destroyed Frazier then Foreman was a big favourite to beat Ali then didn't
