I have never run into this between two famous fighters drawing at least twice. Does anybody know of an instance?

I dunno. Couple of the old timers fought one another eight or more times look to the early 1900s.

That happened a fair few times in the earlier years of the modern version of the sport (late 19th and early 20th century).

For example, Joe Jeanette and Jack Johnson fought to two draws. Ted Kid Lewis and Jack Britton fought each other 19 or 20 times and that included two draws.

I'm sure there are plenty of other examples from that period. @BitPlayerVesti? @Bukkake?

In terms of later eras, I'm sure there are some too but can't immediately think of them.

As Jel said, back in the day this was not unusual at all.

Someone like Young Griffo had 4 draws against Young Pluto - and 2 against each of Joe Gans, Billy Ernst, Jack Everhardt, George (Kid) Lavigne and George Dixon. This includes only official decisions. If we were to count NWS draws as well, then Griffo had 8 of those against Chiddy Ryan!

Another world champ with 4 official draws against the same opponent is Johnny Dundee (vs Willie Jackson). George Dixon also had 4 against Hank Brennan.

Dave Shade had 5 draws with Joe Coffey - and 2 against at least half a dozen other opponents.

Lots and lots of boxers had at least 2 draws against several opponents - but in more recent times, they have of course become more seldom. Though I bet a fair few can be found by skimming through the records of Argentinian boxers from the 50s to the 80s, where they had a lot of draws. Also in Italian records from around the same period, we may (I would guess; I haven't really looked into it!) find examples of this.

For a modern example, Veeraphol Sahaphrom and Toshiaki Nishioka fought 4 times, with 2 draw verdicts. Top bouts, you should give them a watch.

^^^^ this what I was gonna recommend. Sahaprom's such a skilled, entertaining fighter, and Nish was a very talented operator in his own right.

The all-time record is Mike Sweeney and Danny Cripps who fought each other 63 times, of which 27 were draws!
