Fights Where The Winner Was Seen As Past it?

    One of the best final fights for a HOF boxer.

    I wasn’t following boxing at the time, but I’m guessing he wasn’t viewed as declined before the fight. He was coming off the Hearns fight, the best win of his career, and he looked sensational.

    Looking back, I think he was slowly slipping starting with the Roldan fight, and it was clear during the Mugabi fight that his legs and defensive reflexes had slowed.

    Leonard-Hagler also can qualify. People figured that Ray was too past it, too small, and had the detached retina. People worried for Ray’s safety.

    He had more left than people thought, but both guys clearly were past their best to me.

    In retrospect you're correct sir.
    He didn't appear to be losing
    a step until after the Mugabi
    fight.
