Fights where you have to admit that your fav got a shady win.

Time didnt obscure ****, I scored it as it happened as did my Barrera fan friend & we both seen Morales get robbed.

The 1st & 3rd fights were close wars because Morales fought in a way that brought out Barrera`s best & because Barrera was seen as finished at the elite level thanks to Jones & Pacquiao KO losses so he gave Morales a tougher fight than he expected both times & it was still razor thin either way.

The 2nd fight, both men came in as elite p4pers, even tho MAB was favourite, it was nowhere near like how EM was favoured in fights 1 & 3 for the simple reason that he never got his ass handed to him during his prime, he was always a danger & top p4p fighter so Marco definitely didnt expect an easy fight or underestimate Erik... both came in full of passion & dislike for each other & Morales showed him what it was.

Boxing politics called for a trilogy so MAB got the decision - a very poor decision to anyone that knows how to score a fight.

Newsday's legendary boxing scribe Bob Waters claimed that Vito won 11 of the 15 rounds in Antuofermo-Hagler I, and Antuofermo was extremely vocal in citing what Waters had determined. After I found out about that, I reviewed the complete match in an effort to score it from what must have been his perspective, and was indeed able to understand how he arrived at his particular conclusion. (Antuofermo was a vastly underrated defensive fighter, and he had the knack of turning his head and chin so that what appeared to be scoring blows actually slid past his head.)

 

I love Ray Leonard, but I have to admit that Tommy beat him the second time around.

 

So basically Barrera performed well in fight 1 and 3 because Morales allowed him too? Oh my days. You give the man absolutely no credit. :-(

 

Lewis vs Holyfield II was pretty close, as was the Mercer fight.

Holyfield vs Bowe II was questionable, as was Ruiz I and Oquendo. But Evander was ripped off against Valuev....

 

Your words mean so much apparently you are an authority on the Mexican culture. By Mexican Law (Article 30 of the Mexican Constitution) if at least one of your parents is Mexican you have birth right Citizenship regardless of place of Birth. Therefore Vargas is a Mexican.

One other thing Vargas might have been kod a few times but they were all against elite fighters who were near the top of the pFP list,and he gave all those guys all they wanted before being stopped(except 2nd Mosley fight when Vargas was already past it) Vargas had as much Huevos(balls) as any fighter. He also had some pretty damn good wins himself. If he was not rushed he most likely would have been a great fighter, as it was he was pretty close and a better fighter than a couple of guys in the Hall right now. He had a pretty good career if you ask me,and to say that past Mexican greats would be sickened by Vargas as a fighter who was proud of his Mexican heritage is complete bull****. This guys blood was green,WHite,Red, if you doubt that just look at the heart he showed in the ring which was how a true Mexican warrior fought. Mexicos greatest fighter is also good friends with Vargas(Chavez), and i know he has got the approval of the Mexican Nationals.

 

Morales-Barrera I and Chacon-Edwards II. both were absolute wars and spirited efforts by all participants so the winners get a pass for taking a shady dec.

An extremely hard fight to score, I found, but I think The Truth probably should have been given the decision.

Im not gonna say Duran got a shady win over Zeferino(speedy) Gonzalez but it was a very close fight IMO.

What made it shady was the scoring in that fight Duran won by a wide decision but too many viewing the fight the scoring was horrendous. Id like to see it again but from what i recall Duran only won by 1 or 2 points. The Judges had him almost pitching a shut out. Even Gonzalez was celebrating before the decision thinking he had won.

This was when Duran was still pretty much in his prime in between his wins over Palomino and Leonard.

That happened to be Gonzalezs best night of his career, he ended up losing 4 of his last 6 fights. Although before that he was highly regarded.
