Fights where you have to admit that your fav got a shady win.

Totally agree, I wasn't pleased with Spinks moving up to Heavyweight & taking Holmes '0' (which was meant to be Tyson's job!), but at least he won their initial meeting fairly. The gift in the rematch agitated me as it prevented an earlier meeting between Tyson & Holmes once again.

 

..in his light heavy days my all-time favorite fighter..ezzard charles...got a long count in cincinnati after being knocked down and damn near out by fitzie fitzpatrick. after one of the longer brush-the gloves- by -the -referee charles was able to continue and in a subsequent round kayoed fitzie. very similar to the robinson/artie levine match in cleveland.

i should add here that when ezzard and fitzpatrick met in a rematch charles scored a kayo...after being in completel control.

 

It was competitive but I do think Hagler's class told and he edged it. Like you say it was close and he caused a plenty of problems.

I felt Hagler was the one who had the iniative and Geraldo was constantly trying to throw out new puzzles to trick Hagler, but Hagler was still the one in command.

I thought Chacon deserved it.

I don't think any of Arguello's decision wins were debatable.

 

Ward W10 Gatti... it was close and a case can be made either way. I was glad Ward won because I doubt we would have seen a trilogy had Gatti got the win in the first fight.

 

Arguably, M. Spinks also possiby got a gift against Eddie Davis.

Cotto-Corley was a bull**** stoppage.

 

I can't remember the fight, but I do remember Emanuel Augustus getting robbed big time in a fight. In fact, Atlas went on one of his rampages afterwards. I can't recall his opponent but I do recall him getting robbed. So whoever beat him that night got a shady win.

 

It's been years since I've seen either fight, since I only seem them when they happened. But going from memory, what I recall was that Marco deserved to win the first fight, and he was robbed, and then the reserve happened in the second fight, where Marco deserved the victory and Morales got it.

I'd also call the Holyfield draw against Lewis a shady draw..lol

 

I always thought Canzoneri deserved the nod in the 2nd Ross fight we have on film.
