“You don’t care” doesn’t change facts though, surely you must concede.

I'm glad to see Pone Kingpetch mentioned. He hailed from Hua Hin, a Thai beach city, three hours from Bangkok. There's a statue there to memorialize the three-time flyweight king. Also, the city is famous among Thais for its seafood.

Henry Armstrong (USA) vs Benny Bass (Ukraine)

Oleksandr Usyk (Ukraine) vs Mairis Briedis (Latvia)

Jimmy McLarnin (Ireland) vs Young Corbett III (Italy)

I think you could make a good case for either Bass or Usyk as the greatest Ukrainian born fighter.

Armstrong wouldn’t be my pick for greatest fighter from the USA but he certainly has a case.

Lo siento cabron, nos gustan demasiado tus mujeres como para dejarte ir.

To be serious, that’s why I listed the Trinidad fight. I know that to many, it had at least as much patriotism going on as other fights listed here. That sort of thing shows up with the Texicans as well (I’m married to one so I can say that).

McLarnin was born in Northern Ireland his nationality then[1933] would have been murky as he would have been a British subject
