the highest ranked greats put against each other. Inspired by the Thread about the 5 greatest fights i was thinking about it a little bit.

    Well, i thought of:
    Langford-Walcott
    Gans-Walcott
    Greb-Walker
    Armstrong-Ross
    Charles-Moore
    Duran-Leonard
    Whitaker-Chavez

Which else do you think should be mentioned? Do you disagree with some choices - i´m not so sure about Whitaker-Chavez myself?

    Burley-Williams
    Ali-Frazier I
    Leonard Duran I
    Greb-Tunney II

    Some other choices.

    Well, i don´t think Ali-Frazier I and Burley-Williams really qualify here. Greb-Tunney is a good choice though.

What i meant in this thread is that both fighters have to be ranked p4p Top10-20 or at least you could make an argument for them beeing ranked there. And i can´t see that for Williams and Frazier.

Some very good choices but if you take the fight of the very green Nelson against Sanchez than, i think, we should also include Robinson-Armstrong.

Although neither were at their best: Robinson/Armstrong, is probably the fight with the two (generally considered) highest ranked pound for pound fighters meeting each other as pros.

Appreciate your point... But thought it was worth throwing it out there...

When Charles fought Moore neither were on p4p lists.

When Ketchel fought Langford both would be close to the very top.

Gans-Langford for me. My #1 vs #5. Robinson vs Armstrong is only #3 vs #6.

Interesting you rate Gans so highly. I only have him around 12-15, while Langford is my #1 aswell. It has to be Robinson-Armstrong, who I have 3 and 4 respectively on my list.

How developed is your list? I.e. how long is it? You should post it some day.

It is only a list, it's not something you can learn from, per se.

Should blend in with everything else on this site then, true? :D

In any case, even if we can't learn from it, you should still share it. This forum is more about sharing opinions than learning anyway.

Yep, just a list but if show it to us we can ask questions about your positioning and you can enlighten us with your knowledge.
