Same as you with these two, though Mosley would win on points :good Yep, also went for Martinez to beat Williams but the judges let me down Khan-Barrera's another one. A lot of people ended up picking with their heart and went with Marco.
I backed Hopkins to beat Pavlik by a stoppage so i was shitting it in the last couple of rounds thinking Pavlik was going to last the bloody distance. Don't know if fellow posters thought Calzaghe would beat Lacy but the bookies certainly didn't as i had to pretend to the mrs i had put a smaller bet on than i actually did at odds of 100/30!
Sanders over Wlad....9/1 Sprott over Fraudley first time round 4/1 Hopkins over Pavlik 11/4 Wlad over Samuel Peter first fight 2/1 5/1 Quintana over Williams first time round 5/1 Rendell Monroe over that Spanish puncher (the shrewd guy on here 'bigears' suggested that one) I took 11/1 Limond over Khan and still feel robbed by the hometown ref. have had planty bad ones too. The worst was I backed Roy Jones at 1/6 in the Tarver rematch
I had the Hopkins V Pavlik fight too but now I think a lot of others knew it was a good possibility. I mean when a guy rules his division on strenght and power rather then skill it's generally well known that those advantages are lost they more he moves up in weight.
My best is Holyfield over Tyson in fight one, at a very nice 24/1. Watson over Benn. And although I am not claiming I picked the upset, I did win a fiver when I suggested Douglas would go eight rounds with Tyson...
Duran v Moore in 83...Roberto was a 4/1 washed up dog according to the experts & i had bet all my unemployment benefit on it:scaredas: I was shitting myself & the next morning at 5.30am i tore down to the newsagents & found the result in the Daily Express & it read DURAN'S back with a CRASH!BANG! WALLOP! Oh happy days:happy Hagler v Hearns...Every ****er i knew said it's the Hitman thats going to wipe out Hagler & i'am still owed money from that one, but still picked up £600 in private bets i could'nt afford to have paid out if Tommy had won:hey Margo/Cotto at 22/1 at the MGM book for the stoppage from 10 onwards.
This is the only pick of mine in recent months that has cut against the grain....i'm just not sold on Dawson
