Did anyone else go for Haye Klit and have to walk back to there hotel in the pissing down ****ing rain for hoooours!!!!!! (until they found the train station)
Walker vs Karmazin, Williams vs Sprott III, Calzaghe vs Manfredo, Haye vs Barrett, Calzaghe vs Ashira. I think that is all of them. Given up on going to boxing. Awesome atmosphere but terrible production every time. Ring is in the wrong place, signs in the way, small screens, not enough screens, atmosphere only for the main event etc Next boxing card I go to will probably be a Prizefighter where I'm assured a good night of fights and and I can actually SEE them.
I went to Lennox Lewis's professional debut at the Royal Albert Hall. We got a taxi straight back to the Reperbahn and that mad music festival the Germans were having that weekend. Better than the fight TBH...
I was very lucky that my Dad took me to a lot of big fights in the 80s starting with Hagler/Minter. The first fight I got to see with just friends was Mason/Lewis. Again I was lucky from there to see most of the big fights until Benn/McClellan. The highlights would be: getting chased by Lou Duva et al, after my friend pissed him off post Lewis/Ruddock, and the getting to go to both Bruno/Lewis and Benn/EubankII in arguably the greatest week of the sport in this country.
