What are the fights in no certain order that you have most looked forward to in anticipation of this year that have occured or are possibly going to happen and why if you care to discuss? Valero - Demarco: Really looked foward to this one when I first heard about it as im still a Demarco fan hes a class act. Classic boxer vs puncher matchup it seemed on paper until you saw that the puncher had good footwork and lateral movement to go with his concussive power and put a classic beatdown on a very good young boxer. W. Klitschko - Eddie Chambers: Could the underdog pull off one of the biggest heavyweight upsets of all time in the eyes of some? Could he realize his potential and put together hard work and craftiness ? were some of the questions raised by myself in anticipation of this. Of course we saw that Wladimir is really that scary good now. Mayweather - Mosley: Perhaps the most meaningful matchup of Mayweathers career. Could he prove the critics wrong? Would he run circles the whole fight? No instead he walked Mosley down and put on one of his best performances. He could have got the knockout if he wasnt as respectful of Mosley but you have to be against a great fighter like that sometimes. in MMA: Faber - Aldo Mir - Carwin If it were to happen it would be the epicest of events to ever occur in my life: Mayweather - Pacquiao: I think you could come up with your own reasoning behind this. One of the most historically significant fights of all time. The type of fight that will be discussed 200-300 years from now.
Already happened Mayweather/Mosley Arreola/Adamek Dirrell/Abraham Kessler/Froch Still to come Diaz/Marquez II Dawson/Pascal Mayweather/Pac
I want to see see Kirkland vs Angulo. I think it will be a FOY candidate if it happens. who do you guys think would win this one?
there is nothing exciting for the rest of the year unless Mayweather/Pacquaio happens. the next two months of boxing looks like absolute ****. The only one I will be wathcing is Green/Ward.
1. February 26th: Escalante-Roman-I had tickets and was expecting a great fight, and it was better. It was a war and it his a FOTY canidate, and for me it has been FOTY for 2010. 2. April 24th: Froch-Kessler-Another Super 6 fight, and on paper it looked like this would be a war and as it turned out, it was a war. The Championship rounds are both Rounds of the Year canidates. Great fight. 3. March 27th: Abraham-Dirrell-The 2nd stage of the Super 6 and going in it was an interesting fight. AA was coming to America and Dirrell was fighting in front of his own fans. Both have different styles and it was an interesting fight, and as it turned out it was a great fight with a shitty ending. 4. May 1st: Mayweather-Mosley-This fight speaks for itself. The first "big" PPV event of the year. Two great fighters, interesting fight, lots of questions. Would Mayweather suffer his first loss? How will Mosley look at age 38 and also how would the year and a half of inactivity hurt him? etc. Fight was good, lots of drama after those early rounds. 5. January 8th: Karmazin-Miranda-The reason why this one is on here is because there was no Boxing for a good month on TV, and during that drought it was very tough, but finally got through and the fight wasn pretty good. 1. June 19th: Andre Ward-Allen Green 2. July 17th: Timothy Bradley-Carlos Abregu 3. July 31st: Juan Manuel Maruez-Juan Diaz 4. June 5th: Miguel Cotto-Yuri Foreman 5. August 14th: Chad Dawson-Jean Pascal
Nothing has peaked my interest all that much this year to tell you the truth, except maybe Pavlik - Martinez.
well to be honest the fights for me were more about sentimentality and feeling for the fighters (valero - demarco, chambers - klitschko). I still am a big fan of chambers and demarco and wont stop being one just because they lost and lost big. We'll see how they come back from suffering bad beatdowns..
