Duran clearly won the first and the last 4 rounds. Plus the knockdown that would make it 114-113 for barkley if you dont give duran any of the rounds in between, so i guess its conceivable
I called Pac-Bradley 1 7-5 for Pac, and Pac-Horn 114-113 Pac. Both fights were closer than a lot of posters made them out to be.
I think Garcia managed to shade enough rounds against Herrera where a draw was fine and a 7-5 win wasn't completely unjustified. Herrera won his rounds much more clearly, but Garcia has always had a knack for landing the type of shots that catch the eyes of the judges (and my eyes as well it seems).
fight didnt go to the scorecards, but Nunn-Toney. People always make it out like nunn was completely outboxing toney but he was missing quite alot and letting james get in effective body punches and solid shots to the head. i had it smth like 6-4 going in to the 11th round. On the flip side, one i dont agree with is Jirov-Toney. as with many others on first viewing i thought toney clearly outboxed jirov. on second viewing i saw the fight being much closer and toney really needed the knockdown to secure the victory
Holmes vs Norton was good shout always felt Holmes was up comfortable in that fight. Recent bout the name eludes me but a British kid just fought a gold medalist and I thought he was up going into the 12th round - which he lost- and I was surprised so many fans thought he should of lost wider than he did. Ali Young- I thought Young deserved it
I didn't think Kova Ward I was even that close. I thought Kova had it in the bank. People were raving about how Ward had a Plan B, but I thought his Plan B was only a bit more a effective than his initial strategy. Kova was still the boss in those latter rounds. Just because one is able to make an adjustment is not reason alone for winning a round. Basically, you don't need a Plan B when your Plan A is working so well.
Jorge's won of my favs. After the fight he wasn't totally disappointed saying (paraphrase): "A draw here is like a win."
I've heard several fighters echo that exact same sentiment. It's an indictment of the sport, honestly.
