. I thought Duran beat Hagler. And I thought Minter easily won 13 rds against Vito. Ed Davis beat Spinks. Weaver won at least 10 rounds vs as as Dokes 2. Shavers beat and permanently hurt Ali Maidana DID beat Floyd. And Pedroza beat Taylor 13-2 and cowed LaPorte with aggression and body punches in rd 3+4 and won easily.
And the most different of all, I think the Castillo~Corralles fight was ruined when the idea ref let Diego cheat (and Diego) did it on purpose by spitting his mouthpiece out repeatedly and giving him forever to recover. It ruined the entire fight for me and I can't watch it because of it. I consider the fight a KO for Castillo which is what it would have been. Corralles tried that same **** in his welterweight fight. Saw the gutless Frietess do it against him and took it for his MO. F3#k him and as weeks!
lol, alot of mexicans feel the same. Whitaker chavez was a draw. marquez was robbed in all the pac fights. Ive even heard canelo won 7 rounds clear vs ggg. Canelo maywether was a draw. All lara did was run. How could he of won?
It was definitely closer IMO than the hometown judges had it for Nunn. Toney was getting to Nunn in the previous 3 or so rounds. Nunn was ahead on points but those who act like Nunn was beating Toney by a lot and Toney landed a Hail Mary probably haven't seen the fight.
I had Trinidad beating DelaHoya. I thought Oscar`s boxing was extremely over rated that night. He crossed the border from 'boxing" to "running" even in many of those early rounds. Ofcourse Jim Lampley`s open cheerleading might have lead to to the perception that Oscar did more than he did.
Th announcers themselves said at the closing bell (with some surprise) that it was quite a close fight. If you just watch the fight and know nothing of the context I agree, and it could indeed have been scored for Ali. That said, I strongly suspect Berbick went easy on Ali. After the fight he said he'd idolized Ali since he was a kid and that he'd have never beaten him in his prime.
I had Conteh beating Saad Muhammad in their first fight despite being decked twice in the 13th round.
I had Muhammad winning but John sure put up a great battle to make it close. He would have won had he been at his absolute best. Shame he stepped into the ring for the rematch.
