I'm thinking you need a fight with action, drama, a high level of skill, and not so much blood, disfigurement, or outright brutality that the faint of heart get on their pacifist horse. Let's be real, Castillo - Corrales I might be a little much to get a boxing newbie started.

    Go!

    Good, good stuff guys.

I hate throwing in that pansy ass caveat about gore, but I mean, imagine trying to get your kids or your wife hooked by tossing in Holyfield - Rahman...

The last newb I did this for was ToxicAngel, she'd already been recommended all the essentials by the time I got sloppy thirtieths or whatever. :yep

I'm going to say the major lower-weight trilogies of the '00s:

    Vazquez-Marquez
    MAB-Morales
    Casa-Chico

And the entire round-robin series of Leonard, Duran, Hagler and Hearns.

There are countless other great fights, but those are probably my "desert island" picks.

The Rumble in the Jungle is only a good fight if you know about the players. If it were not Ali and Foreman in there with their respective reputations, it's just a guy wailing away and getting tired.
