Just watching last nights card, really impressed commentary is very solid the quality of stream is spot on. The English title fight last week was a cracker, and the midlands area between Conah Walker and Levi Ferguson was very entertaining. Seen a few people moan about the price but the quality of their product at the moment is very good. Fully reccomend to anyone who likes British boxing. Their seems to be a lot of English/Area fights one their schedule. Double header next weekend as well.
I have watched both the main cards so far and to be honest the only poor fight was the women’s last week, the commentary is better than Sky’s or even DAZN’s to be fair, I am half tempted to change my subscription and pay for a year up front just to show them some support.
Yep I have done a yearly subscription. Thoroughly enjoyed both cards to date. Essomba vs Leech next week should be very entertaining as well. They are doing a good job.
I'm going to sign up. They are not bankrolled by gazillionaires so how can they be cheaper than DAZN? Hopefully it sticks around
DAZN is not going to be £1.99 a month for much longer, I beta tested it throughout the second half of last year, when they officially launched their communication made it absolutely clear that in their own words £1.99 was a “introductory offer”, last week I had another email from them with a questionnaire, a lot of the questions were about price and even different pricing tiers, if it’s still £1.99 by the autumn never mind Xmas I will be shocked.
1 it’s not as DAZN is £1.99. But when it is eventually it’s just a guess but DAZN are paying purses to the likes of Billy Joe Saunders and Canelo not Thomas Essomba. Love Fightzone and what they are trying to do, big gap for die hard boxing fans who like good solid fights. But hopefully it’s a good thing for people to get behind and realise what they have. When if matchroom or Queensbury put on Kash Ali vs Salek and Essomba vs Leech for a £5 a month all hell would break loose For me it’s great value as a fight fan
I actually got into boxing in the 90s when Sky were mostly showing fights like this, week in week out they were in leisure centres and small halls up and down the country showing real competitive close fights, area titles, English titles, European etc etc, the big arena world title shows used to feel like treats, it’s started to creep in by the mid 00s but especially over the last decade when they just became the norm and are usually a card stacked with named fighters with padded records against a opponent with no pulse, these last two weeks have brought back some nostalgia to the 90s, proper competitive hard fights week in week out.
Fights don't have to be with two future superstars for it to be exciting, that Area fight last night was as entertaining as BT or Sky have knocked up in a long while. Cannot confess to know much about either lad before hand. But happily will watch both again. Nice watching fights without the narratives of them being future world champions.
Exactly the quality or class may not always be there but it’s about more than that, if I have been watching some of these big cards by myself, especially over the last year I have found myself dozing off more often than I should really admit too.
Sky Sports Sky PPV BT DAZN I will get seriously moaned at if I pay for anything more sports related lol
